Coyote Trails

Re: Coyote Trails
got dog? he's been dreaming lots lately tearing down misconceptions interpretations memory and legends - you won't catch me building sentences - i play with words as dice - handfuls thrown to show whatever face they will - i keep that door open and get to be president-for-life or at least interested -
my refuge against talent
& my refusal of omnipotent ego
and origami mommies
by compositing technology
folding in the fuck to everything
... the guy shot his game in the head
in the form of his wife ...
growing old has me
selling rubber boats
down by the river - well, free ain't free - we all knew that - then there is knee replacement surgery for fun & profit - climbing mountains in rows hoping to get away with it honeymoon style -
the grave is a great teacher yet we hope to walk away dreaming like dogs

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
Re: Coyote Trails
as I wore the young face I now wear the old face - jazz invented itself - it only needed a place to arrive - that place was America - and it's not that Lily was here but that she still is here -

Re: Coyote Trails
Lily is indeed still here announced perfectly by Candy... her chops reminding me of John Klemmer, the master of cool sax.
Trip me out and give me a mental massage... you picked a gem for this old man, el mingo.
Gracie!

Re: Coyote Trails
Hey thx Cec - didn't know synchronicity was happening - I was looking for another piece of jazz to go here and must have misremembered the artist's name because I never found it - tripped across this during the search - hadn't heard it in quite awhile but had always liked it myself - it proved to fit tight to my mood last evening and for a november night - glad you enjoyed too

Re: Coyote Trails
- down in rapture valley the long animals of winter gather to settle in - iron sleeps stacked against the wall in the trouble store - nimble carnival rat pushers point uselessly upon the horizon - the stink of truth finds no home in the room songs of the far narcotics and all the poets are banal cowboys hoping to trick out a turn with a charm or wearing a step-child punked out as a star - the bird's milk is not for these but for those whose language swells up in the dark - damp & odorous as a zen whore whose ceilings are the home of small lizards that run across them completely upside down & totally unafraid -

Re: Coyote Trails
timeless candy.....cant believe it 21 years since i bought sax a go go....
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....
Re: Coyote Trails
she puts that sax to her lips
and all these things come out - kangaroos moving along the horizon makes ya glad ya got something to eat & drink - she makes for happy ears even in the snow - just love anyone working down a groove - the music sometimes like stepping from stone to stone in crossing a creek or the back & forth rhythms of sex -
or in chess going where one square becomes a touchstone that you cross again and again as your play gains motion - hell yeah Mongolia! uplift! uplift!

Re: Coyote Trails
Hell yes, El Mingolian! Treasures are to be discovered and Candy is a discovery you were kind enough to share.
lock up the words tight as a drum
speak not of evil or it's twin for
the time is ripe for words to go
into a retreat in Greece high on
a mountain, with sounds of Nature
speaking the truths of life and love
while the hear beats in rhythms
akin to the ladderback woodpecker
sending out the message that words
have surrendered from man to the
breath of the Holy Silence ... shhhh
it is here where it's always been...
waiting in the bowels of meditation

Re: Coyote Trails
I took care of my wheel as one would look after a Rolls Royce. If it needed repairs I always brought it to the same shop on Myrtle Avenue run by a negro named Ed Perry. He handled the bike with kid gloves, you might say. He would always see to it that neither front nor back wheel wobbled. Often he would do a job for me without pay, because, as he put it, he never saw a man so in love with his bike as I was. ~ My Bike and Other Friends Henry Miller

Re: Coyote Trails
wake up in a dark room
in yourself and wonder what time it is
how close to dawn? and the like
the can't-go-back-to-sleep-now creature
already reaching to flick on the light
the first sexual thought having already
come and gone while reaching for
pants & slippers
first fantasy episode of
being a passenger on a train
all heart & desire & genitals among strangers
standing up
the dog motioning he has to go out
hand on the door to open it
for him to pass
painted Indians dancing around a fire
on a molecule of imagination as
you pull the door open
breaking a river in pieces
putting one piece here
& another there just to see
how it all looks
guy says something about
removing emotional blocks
i think is he serious?
there is a radio up one of nostrils
a far off whale singing up the other one
i remember the scent of every woman
who came close enough
dealing with words
a true symbol gypsy taking apart every moment
even as it happens
gimme that old time twilight zone
everything is the crossroads of a dream
first thought best thought?
hell, i got a whole niagara falls of that
right here
it's a constant instant is what life is
sunday morning sax
and snow that covers everything

Re: Coyote Trails
daze made thru
maze endured
haze never purple
almost grey
gris-gris on my
doorstep
lonely sax refrains
the want
the will
the hum
of the fan
cold down here
on the killing floor
time to get up
