Re: Bandit Notions
that is the stuff that keeps the grandchildren happy too!
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
Re: Bandit Notions
cutting edge. I heard that term today applied to a painting. I wish God had made everyone without a mouth and/or brain. The absence of either would short-circuit the idiot process.
and believe me the idiot process could do with all the short-circuiting it can get.
so, what's in your wallet?
cutting edge ... the dragon with a girl tattoo?
I hope i turned that stupid coffeemaker off at work before I left.
loneliness causes sociopaths.
voice is to sex as wind is among the wild blackberry bushes. Squish the way elephants would if they lived in the same house as homo sapiens.
i don't want my edge cut - i want it petted.
it's a dog's life - catch as catch can.
oxen free.

Re: Bandit Notions
then there is "the bleeding edge"
I wish I could remember who said "language is a bitch with an ice pick"
words oh words
"these are real people" always jumps out at me from the infomercials
I was thinking that selling the american people on the Iraq war was kind of like buying a fifty dollar gold piece for only 9.95, *quainities limited to five coins per caller.
nice tune
fractals are so interesting to me
reminds me of kaleidioscopes, I used to love those things
who was von koch and why did he curve, I think he was a pitcher for the Boston Braves.

Re: Bandit Notions
Now there's kicking around a few bandit notions. man that icepick thing is still with me. i still can't put my finger on it...burrough's owns "language is a virus" - is that e-dog you're quoting? Geezer memory kickin' in - i might have crossed it a mile or so back. Trying to answer the bell you set ringin' with that quote got me into that place when every direction is nowhere & every direction is home?

Re: Bandit Notions
i dunno- hear where i know that the economy is killing the hawaiians- and that the history books read rather white
the story is very personal- as they are my friends and extended family- the economy of breadfruit and banans-papayas and beaches- the economy of making people pay far beyond their means for a piece of meat and a cocktail- dreams are sold to inebrieated fools
time shares
200 $ bathing suits-and a whole lotta debt
we work for them like little slaves
compliment them like kings and queens
take as much money as you can
while the getting is good
all in the name of love and service
we all bought war as a smokescreen for what we were hiding
like refusal to confrmity
the old woman wore her mink stole out into the cold new york city wind
she was bound and determined to be free of four walls-
down the street
the smell of tennis shoes and the gym
thru the glass is the eye candy of the perfect body
if we work hard enough
we can be rich
have the perfect relationship
maybe even perfect the once and fairest of love stories
but the tongue that speaks the truth
is the only one that is heard

amazing talents there
how does that song go
some western country thing about not crying bout the leaving
oh yeah
Guy Clark song
RE: passover poem
a tin drum
a tick tock
kick me to satori
I never mourned for the Egyptian first born
till now
this holiday won't end
still got four days to go
like waiting for the other shoe to drop
what new act of loving kindness will God bestow on the Egyptian children
Gotdam that feeling of being pursued by monsters from the id

so many jolly tuna's in tulip land.
how come jehovah's witnesses look like they do?
let's throw the Mormon's in there too - they all homogenized or something. I bet none of them would let John the Baptist anywhere near their houses of worship. or their own houses for that matter.
there was a wilderness in ol' john's voice, and locusts in his beard. the catholic's probably wouldn't let him in either.
it's said that politics & religion don't mix which never made any sense to me since they both spring from the same root.
Guess i'll just have to tip my hat to the fish and all the other things i don't understand like republicans & democrats - or those ridiculous statues out there on easter island.
ain't that some shit?
and the next soul that i hear blaming anything on "climate change" i'm gonna call the cajuns down in l'weeseeana and tell them i know where they can find some gator bait for free.
john jacob astor went down with the ship. the titanic that is. i could say i hope it was a good death but i know it wasn't.
"If I had a boat I'd go out on the ocean
and if I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat"
( If I had a Boat - Lyle Lovett )

Re: Bandit Notions
from Masada to Wounded knee
somebody sing ship of fools for me
bloodlines, he had a good singing voice my uncle did, auditioned for a gig at a shul in maryland. But all they kept asking him was who was his mother's mother and who was her mother and so on and so forth back across how many generations.
Not so much a religion for me anymore, just a family tradition.

Re: Bandit Notions
the dog just head butted me. well, neck-butted me is more like it. Coonhound - never in my wildest...don't know if we had any family tradition...more like stories i guess. i used to like to listen to the grown-ups talk when they got together. that's how i got to know them.
it was treasure but i didn't know that at the time.
My paternal grandfather worked construction and was a good carpenter - maybe a master carpenter. Built his own house from the cellar to the roof. He was short, everybody called him Stub. I never heard anyone call him by his real name.
It's a wonder to me now that as a kid i knew men who wore fedora hats in public. it was like being in a Bogart movie. i have thought about getting me one of those hats lately.
it just don't stop now does it?
we are the greatest comedy on the planet - and the most tragic.
your grandneice is going to remember you, ya know, in the same way you remember those from your own childhood.

Re: Bandit Notions
Maybe she will remember me.
I had not thought about that.
What I have thought about is all the ones I remember that she will never know.
I wish I had known my paternal grandfather. I think he actually made it to Amerika.
I read that JFK was the kiss of death for the hat industry. After his innaugaration hat sales plummeted.
The unabomber a crazy son of a bitch. Another fool on that ship.
