My landlord is a bona fide warlock who survived the Korean War. Casts spells to this day. Leaves warning to trespassers that nothing should be taken for granted. Trespassers never listen but go on taking everything for granted and so justice is served.

82 years old and a jolly full of the devil sort - but you wouldn't want to mess with him. Just lately I've seen fire try to take him out twice - score is:

fire - 0 for 2
landlord - breathing, untouched & unburned

I hear ya - it's that inter-weave of voices that makes for the rock & roll of a place - without that it's just postings with no play - i try sometimes but with riding season in my face with her sweet legs open all the way to the backroads i ain't spending much time online these days plus working during the days - you're right though, not much lively threadwork goin' on here - i've been tempted sometimes to do a strafing run on everybody just to get 'em riled & get things rollin' over - it works up to a point but ya shouldn't have to do it that way - it should just come natural like the days and nights do and because folks enjoy each other's company -

- lot of different personalities here - sometimes i think we are too cautious of each other, hell, if ya got enough ego to post a piece of writing to a public & open site you ought to be able to tumble with the rumble and ride the wave with class - besides most folks here are regulars and know each other - threads should be popping outta the woodwork every day - but it's damn rare a good one gets off the ground ...

chili with no meat -

the place lacks a solid foundational bullshitting vibe - 8)

but when there's no smell at all
it bothers me -

village wide garage sale yesterday - everybody's stuff placed on the lawns - same question on everyone's lips - "How much for this?"

2 & 1 half short months ago there was four feet of snow on the ground as far as the eye could see & the wind was howling out of the northwest ...
