yeah, it has come back up to speed and seems none the worse. The trouble I had with Tolstoy was his mass, he is too much like a bear and too little with the incredible lightness of being.

He does pay too much time describing too much of things and the unnecessary,
but then he has worthy material in there scattered about enough to keep me at the task. Guess it being task describes it for me, instead of eating it straight up, like some other writer's works.
Sweet dreams to you.
I'm not really mad.

I hope to finish the movie you posted tomorrow. These old films get to me - they tell stories with such cool - knowing that the real action was taking place in the viewer's imagination and letting fine enough alone as it was not film's place ever to replace that imagination connection with "realism" or graphic image. Where did all that good common sense go? It's like old rock & roll - code words and certain ways of saying things was the heart & soul & life of it. Like in the song "Just My Imagination", you can feel the longing behind the words and everybody has been there were that song is sung from. Like that line from that Danny O'Keefe song I sent you once where he goes: "Rock & roll on the radio - lets turn it up and get down" - You not only know what he's saying, you feel it in your gut and in your heart. You are there. Those old movies & rock & roll spoke the universals of human existence - what was true for everyone simply by being human. All the booty shakin' and skinshow of the present time just leave me feelin' mean. It was not that anything was more innocent or gentler or kinder in those days because it wasn't ... cruelty was just as cruel then as now ... just that no one then ever felt the need or thought it necessary to take any thing to the absurd. They knew what they were doing so well they didn't need to. To take something to absurdity these days is looked upon as a sign of "artistic excellence" when it is but the call to become a worshiper of the golden calf. In that movie you posted think of how quickly the makers ratcheted up, not the sex, but the eroticism - the tension of it - the man and the woman locked together deliciously in the same cage - and WOW! I only watched the first dozen or so minutes of it and there I too, was caught in the cage of it. You were served it ALL up on a silver platter. I miss that. I miss the sight of a woman who uses her whole body to walk instead of just slinging her hips from side to side as if that was the be-all of the thing. There are so may things like that that are not anymore. The thing is no one realizes how much they have been robbed. And that is the saddest & coldest part of it. And ... it's just so crazy cool that you like those old films

Re: I am tripping more than you are. Battling razzberries
I like a lot of the cleanness to black and whites and grey. The lines are more poignant, the background scenery has less noise and the focus can catch all their gestures better with less is more. Better to imagine when she puffs straight up like an ostrich and he flirts in perfect peacock form.
Our modern world is so sloppy, junked up in every way possible. The music is louder, the people are louder and they own every object ever created. It generally is boring, because there is no true focal point to pick up and lay in my lap for long enough to fall in love with it's very seams.
You're right. And the men are devilishly pleasing, with wit and charm and side smirky remarks. Not many men around like that these days. I want one.

Such an innocent-hearted little temptress - you are putting the sugar in my coffee this morning. Presenting me with the image of your poor self, unable to sleep, drinking wine, and walking the floor with no one but Tolstoy for company. Bold, powerful bold. You & I both know that rusty ol' russian just ain't got nothing gonna do it for you, Doll, even if he was alive and snortin'. Your just using him & the wine in trying to quiet down your dangerously's.
"Are we talking about her or I?" she asks. O I can't even believe you just up and put this out there. Shameless, pure sweet shameless. I am always talkin' about you no matter all the ways I might do it, not like you don't know it or need to be told. You handing me your trash 'cause you know I'm on it to deal with it and you without a lot of fuss.
Want & need - the two are combined.
Potent combination that.
Deal me in
What a brat. Ain't seen such the like in a long long time. I'm swappin' out that thin gruel I run to the store on, girl - fillin' the tank with heavy fuel - don't need nobody tellin' this boy 'bout the only way to run cool with a dame comin' on classed like you.
We runnin' this thing, Doll.

PS - I'll get to the movie talk later, things you said spun off things I want to pick up on too about that. Got to go cut a young beech tree I marked out early last fall for a walking staff. Time now to cut it while the sap is down so it does not split on you as it dries out. Catch you later, Doll.

Re: I am tripping more than you are. Battling razzberries
It isn't as if I haven't tried to keep my chin strut up and my eyes cooled down, then I go to smugging all the many faces that come by the way. But, one day I was taken by surprise and I'd lost all my rigid and fright, then went the loss of flight, too. I used to tell him I was gonna run away, only I didn't have to in order to have at him.
I try to be graceful.
I try to care to be a lady, too and to keep moral, so as not to ruin the soul.
But, then I'm anxious, bursting and more of me is nude.
That is my blush, it is mine rosed cheek and flush from all the hesitation.
Sometimes.

I liked all those things you said concerning the black & white movies and the way you said it -
Then the climax, the money shot of all that when, reaching down, (she has to reach down) she strikes him violently with that crop. Whew! It's a wonder the film never burnt up in the showing.
Can someone say Amen?
Now ... you speak of hesitation and sure I've seen some of that & guessed at more but I've also seen your display of paleolithic speed and hesitation be damned then. It's powerful, certain, and magnetic, drawing the eye, enchanting the imagination and wonder-clubbing the soul. When you decide to move, when you must move or perish, then you move in a wonder and your timing is always surprising me, immaculate, so I know it comes out of your spirit, natural, the predator in you awake & pleasing me.
I know you're telling me of the inside, showing me the interiors, revealing the haunts of this secret or that, all in your own time, I wouldn't have it any other way at all.
And it's not calculation - it's instinct - which sets fine & sweet with me,
nude or otherwise.
'Nite, Doll
yeah, all that for sure. I liked how they put it all together - from setting to scenery to camera work, making the mood of the piece work. Dialogue, can't even talk about that dialogue. That shit was so loaded yet never collapsed of it's weight or from the things it carried. Setting a scene like the one in the Fountainhead the second time she sees Roark she rides up - on the back of a beast of burden, a large animal is her throne, and she carries the scepter of her authority in the form of that riding crop and Roark must look up at her.I like a lot of the cleanness to black and whites and grey. Re: I am tripping more than you are. Battling razzberries
If I don't rely heavily on such suches as hesitation, than I find that I lift off the ground very much and in those cases I'm apt to think to myself that I've already married myself to Cat,
if you are Cat, then you'd have to be settled with an idea such as big as that, to know that I've gone from all restraints that keep us worldly possible, that I'd defeated whatever tried to intrude upon mine very heart.
I mean it shrugs about the distance, assurances, physicality. It would shrug about Cat if and when he rejects. It cares not, but only to find a way to embrace. It cares not to keep normalcy for guest.
So, hesitation keeps me acting more appropriately, more acceptable.
Mostly to pretend my form back to me, it says, "But, you have to put on this fragile body, everyone does."
Maybees you're fortunate that I hesitate.

Or you just indicating by ornament this ain't no ordinary stroll down a thunder road where threatens storm enough to sweep away the woefully unprepared?
you may be right & I may find myself inadequately equipped to the task but foolishly believing otherwise...ahh but I'm not on a diet of pills just yet and the skies are never settled territory ...
you know i'm smilin

Re: I am tripping more than you are. Battling razzberries
It is good for you to see me a little defiant.
I do prolly show more temper than I do affection, because temper is an easier emotion to stand around with flashing on my breast, in a heave. When affection is so vulnerable in it's come hither to mine bosom...
then I'd be having to say such nice things.

Re: I am tripping more than you are. Battling razzberries
Well, I'm glad to see at least someone is making decisions 'round hereIt is good for you to see me a little defiant.

let's say we slip into overdrive for a bit, kick back, and take in some scenery ...
You're right though - affection does seem to be the harder tuck...fear, anxiety, and a dozen other two-edged instruments from hell come into play ... textbox being what it is it's easier with the race and twirl and swirl than it is with two leaves fallen into the current of the river eventually finding their way to quiet sidewater by the bank & floating there with their edges just overlapping in connection ... so i think be best to assume a tenderness from the racing twirl & swirl for now...& relax, sure to see that it will find it's expression without need of any undue meddling ... trust me.
besides, you don't think I call you Doll for nothing, do you?

I'm not trying to be aloof or nothing like that, just careful.
I think Cat's all mine and I'm all his, most the time.
From me to Cat. From Cat to me.
I like that we pulled over on the side of the road (river) and we can lay to relax.
Let's look at the stars cause I heard from National geographic that they found a moon from another planet that seems a similar environment to Earth.
I'm so excited to think we could move there.
