I had to set the painting aside for the moment. Too many little guys, I mean ALL of them want to get in on the action for this one. Driving me crazy. All of them being a real pain in the ass about it too. How did you get so popular ?
I thought there was gonna be a riot day before yesterday when I told them all to just chill out ! Some of them threatened to strike. I had to throw them buggers into lockup. That ought to cool 'em. They all need to learn whose Lord of the Canvas 'round here. Worse comes to worse I'll play divide & conquer, carrot & stick. I'll have peace in the valley while they are at each others throats. Yeah ! It's quiet in the workspace right now. The thought of hanging on one of your walls for, like, ever, just was too much bubble for their doodle minds and it drove them all up apeshit right over the top.
Thing the "little guys" don't unnerstan' is that their chatter drives out the voice of the painting. I got to have that voice to know where I'm going & when I get there. Their excitements reach a crescendo that sounds like chipmunks in my brain. Under that kind of load it takes me about 18 seconds to lose my James Dean and grab an eraser or a match. Stays quiet like this I'll get back on the jobsite & back to work.
So ... yeah.

I gotta find a pair of pants pretty quick to prevent myself from goin' to work in my skivvies. That kind of day 'round here. I don't expect old age to be a whole bunch of shits & giggles but I have found that it has it's compensations. Ya see, ya get to the point where you realize that the world & yourself have long since ceased to impress one another very much and this gives birth to a rather wonderful give-a damn attitude that comes naturally from within and is not adopted. It's almost like some kind of mystery ninja device - and it makes ya giggle when it comes over you.

Happy Day After Your Birthday Day, Doll ! ( told ya ) I got a beautiful day goin' here. Gonna go up and drop into the Salmon River a bit later. The Salmon breaks up when it gets to Lake Ontario and you can spend a couple hours there nosing around in all the channels and never be in the same place twice. Then down the river and out to the lake. Take a sandwich and fig newtons do a bit of picnic. A shits & giggles run on a beautiful beautiful day. I hope the sun is shining where you are Doll, & shining just for you. Will catch up to you when the day is done & the river has been run. See ya then.
