Happy Earth Day!

Post by Steve Plonk » April 22nd, 2010, 7:25 pm

"I, a pillar of mud, stood next to a rose and caught it's scent"
"Remember that Earth Day is every day..." Forty years of brilliance.
Clean air, clean water and saving endangered species...Also remember
that war is the most unhealthy thing for the environment.
Finally, remember that use of renewable resources is important
and wind, solar, geothermal, and
new sustainable technology will get us
to the future smelling like a rose. Happy Earth Day! Many happy returns.

The "Gaia Hypothesis" supposes that mother Earth behaves like a biological entity. All the ecological niches work together to form the whole. We are all stewards and are required to help keep the Earth sustainable and more alive by living gently on the Earth. According to the Bible, all creation is good...
We are part of creation. All is One. God is in us and in nature itself. God is
also in the "multiverse".

It is time we all gathered together for a group hug in solidarity with other creatures of this Earth. In other words, I speak of "panentheism". We are all "symbiotic" and live for and with one another and as a species we need to act as One people. There lies the hope for humankind and all plant and animal life on this planet. Otherwise, we are headed for a great extinction.

Oh, by the way, the Endangered Species Act is up for renewal in Congress.
Write your U. S. representatives and senators and ask that it be renewed.

Hopefully, the rest of the known world will catch on and start sharing what bounty that is left. Organize! Let's save the the planet from our own greed & aggression. Wars & destruction are over if we want them to be...but it has to be a great group effort.
We need to become true shepherds of creation. Let's remember
that Earth Day should be every single day. Only hard work &
sacrifice will see us through.

Well, here it is Earth Day Weekend, Easter, this year, is only two days after...
God Bless and celebrate Earth Day every day! Remember April 22nd!
Earth Day came on Good Friday this year and was celebrated either before or after...Forty years ago, I was at a combination protest and festival called
the "Festival of Life". See my thread about it below... It took place on Earth Day Week and seems like a lifetime ago, as it was!

The "Festival of Life" was one of the largest environmental and peace festivals
ever held in Washington, DC. We also marched for eighteen-year-olds to get
the right to vote. I wonder how many eighteen-year-olds today exercise
their hard-earned rights to vote...What say ye, people!? (What do I have to do,
light a fire under your tails to get you to post on this thread?) Ten-Four!
"This wheel's on fire!" B. Dylan

HAPPY EARTH DAY! 8) We need to remember Earth Day every single day. Time's a-wasting...Let's jump on Congress to renew the Clean Air & Clean Water Acts & keep toxic substances out of our food & ecosystems. We need to be ready for the next earthquake, or big oil spill, etc. We need to realize that we are going through a time of major climate change... :!:

Ecological preservation ideas must be spread throughout the world if we
are to sustain the current earth population without major catastrophes.
That is one reason that the United Nations is cooperating with feed &
seed banks, etc. in case of a major disaster.

Once again, it is Earth Day! Celebrate the Earth mother this day especially, & every day... :)

Happy Earth Day 2017, tomorrow! Remember, as the saying goes, let's make Earth Day
every day. 8)

I wonder if folks could clean up that floating pile of garbage, twice the
size of Texas, which is located off our Pacific Coast.
