Studio8 - Uniting the Arts

This announcement will introduce this column, "Life in the Horse Lane", to the blog. I am Steve Plonk. I have two B.S. degrees from land grant universities, and am a member of the Academy of American Poets. I live in the Chattanooga, TN metro area. I've been published in small quarterlies and monthlies. I look forward to hearing from all of you who are interested in posting to this standing column format.

I intend to post opinions, essays, articles, stories, poetry, etc., even humor pieces to be discussed, etc. within normal limits. I am not highly technical, so I won't be able to answer all posts. However, I will, at times, seem distant, which is my take on getting into the role of moderator. I have to try to wing it at times when flammability leaks out. Hopefully, we won't have too much of that. I am new at this, so bear with me. Thanks for this opportunity to have my own column site. Thank you to all who have posted on my opinions so far. Announcement: Sorry I haven't been able to post in quite some time.
On November 26th, I had a five hour spinal fusion operation.
I can't drive a car, nor lift more than ten pounds!

In addition, my computer is located downstairs in the den.
I have had trouble, until recently, going up and down stairs because of tremendous pain.
If that wasn't enough, my personal computer needs to be replaced and freezes up on me. Moreover, when upstairs, I have been busy sending off some fictionalized memoirs, and poetry compilations by snail mail. I have to get online help downstairs from time to time. I got some stitches out and am making progress.

I hope you other members and readers will understand that I will be back regularly posting as soon as possible. I am
in the process of borrowing a portable laptop to facilitate quicker communication.

I got a new computer for Christmas. This is why I haven't posted for a couple of weeks. I am back on now.
I had tp get help from relatives to change over data and change settings and so on.

Hey, everybody,Steve Plonk, here. I now have a compilation of poetry that has come out called: STRAWBERRY MOSS, which uses my given name as author: John G. Willis, AKA Steve Plonk. The publisher is Newman Springs Publishing, 320 Broad St., Red Bank, NJ 07701. My poetry compilation will soon be on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and hopefully, Second and Charles retailers. It has 134 pages, not counting About the Author (last page).

The ISBN number for the book is 978-1-63881-736-9 for the paperback, and 978-1-63881-737-6 for the Digital e-book. It retails in paperback for $15.95. It is copyrighted originally in 1986 and this year, 2022. It is the first edition ever. Hope everybody will check it out and/or buy it. Soon articles will undoubtedly come out about the compilation in a week or two, etc. I think the e-book is approximately $9.95. Query the publisher to get more information. Thanks.
