Click on "listen to the latest edition" to hear a half hour interview with Kurt Vonnegut. Lasts for a week from today. Best to fast forward a minute to get to the start of the interview.

I fell asleep last night listening to the BBC World service overnight, I do that a lot. Not sure if it the interview or a interview about the interview. Going to check out the link, the bit I heard just before drifting off to sleep was about people who are born without a conscience. The BBC guy asked him are you calling Bush a psychopath and he said yes.

Not to change the subject but you and I seem to be the only ones here who are curious about the timing of the Muslim Cartoons.

Yes, I noticed no one else seems to be bothered by that. You asked "why" plenty of times but no takers. The Danish Imams have a lot to answer for.

Almost as much as some of the so-called religious leaders in the United States have to answer for.

I misunderstood your question.

I got a bad streak of jingoism in me. Too many John Wayne movies when I was a kid. I better get over it.

Out of respect for his past writing career, though, I will refrain from cutting him up with a razor here. There were some signs in his interview that he hasn't drunk deep of the ID kool-ade, but overall it was a sadly muddled exercise in sloppy reasoning, spoken without the sharpness and clarity I've expected from Vonnegut.
