I remember the day. I was 18 still in high school. We were standing on a corner smoking. Someone said Buddy Holly died. I asked who Buddy Holly was. I was always weird.

anyway thanks for the music.

And I loved That Will Be The Day That I Die, I believed it I truly did, if I ever would loose my true love.

I'm opening for him Saturday night. Tonight's the first time I've listened to him. He's kinda psychedelic sounding on the fourth tune. Might be fun.

I'm trying to find a following to steal, 'cuz I ain't got one of my own yet. Yanno?
Not just another pretty face...

Bennie,

I grew up listening to Lightnin Hopkins
at midnight on a live radio show

Then in the early seventies I got to meet him
He was playing in a club where I played
must've been getting close to 80 at the time

He came to Dallas from Houston
got a pick-up band to play the gig

I knew the bass player
he said to me, "Yeah old Lightnin makes the changes whenever he feels like it."

And then you post Buddy Holly
damn boy, you need to move from Scotland to Texas
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

The Poet's Eye

I was born to follow Mr. Troll.
You ever get down south?

Bennie I like that Kris Kristofferson song a lot

I never heard old Waylon sing it before
Thanks.

I lived on 16th avenue in Nashville TN back in the 70’s. 16th Avenue also known as Music Row.
Willie, Waylon and the Boy were all the rage
Texas music was big business on the tables of the board rooms on music row. Kris was gone by the time I got there, gone to hollywood. And Jerry Jeff Walker rote a song for him called Pissing In The Wind.

I spent a lot of time in the honky tonks on lower broadway stayed at the mission there, and the bums would call me Kris sometimes

Always one of my favorite songs to listen to

Clay I always told bennie he should visit Virginia because he has so many relatives up in the Shenandoah valley Torrance is a very popular name

How about a peddle steel
this is one of Waylon's songs
A lot of people don't realize how great a song writer he was

the kids of sixth grade that are very noisy-music-talky orientated wanted to learn some song in the english class. With the teacher, that´s a friend of mine we chose last year "Imagine" and it was a sensatiooon!!. This year we were more democratic and asked the kids:
The results:

. Green day (wake me up when...) mmm so saddd. I would prefer "she" or "the time of your life", that thinking twice are a bit sad too but with a more up ritmo
. Beyonce with Bono singing One ?
. Justin something and the Black eyed peas
. ACDC
. The Rolling Stones
. Robby Williams
. High School Musical

We got two name songs (greenday´s with more kids for it) and some groups and singers. I´ll tell you how the things went on.

This should have been the theme song of the Republican
party in the 04' presidential election and , if you don't
care about politics , you can always play ; Spot L-Rod.
Yep! He's in there somewhere.
