gotan project
for my money, gotan project is the end word in the tango idiom. their fusion of tango, jazz, and electronica is executed with flawless technique and creativity. check out lunatico or revancha del tango and see what you think.

milonga in black & white!! good!!!
The man´s voice made me smile "Argentina... Buenos Aires"... the female cracked voice in the background I guess is Adriana Varela´s one. Too much "Buenos Aires" label ...maybe that´s why I´m more sentitive to argentine folk music than folk-tango!!!
. Despite that, I was learning? to like tango since 1990, thanks Baglietto´s versions, Mederos, Piazzola, old films with Tita Merello & memories of my grandfather silbando Sosa´s popular themes. I like to listen (also sing them!) in tiny dosis, but dancing is other thing !. I tried it only with very expert and compassionate/apassionate dancers, and it felt great!!!!!

i went to their website and saw the videos and heard some tunes under the discography section. all new to me. i had never heard of these folks before reading your thread. glad i did.

well, cecil... as far as I know, there are no princess in tango, only minas and mothers!
. And about the musicians and singers I mentioned, I guess they are all argentinian except Julio Sosa (called "el varón del tango" ) that was uruguayan. Baglietto is rosarine.
In the gym I go, sometimes I stay also in tango-classes. Things there are more wilder and funny and less smoother
