Piano,

Trumpet,
Miles freddy hubbard, dizzie gillespie, or corse Louie Armstrong, Chuck Mangione, Hotlips Paige, so many more Wynton Marsalis

Bass,
CHarles Mingus, Stanley Clarke Victor WOoten (whoom i had the pleasure of meeting twice) Oteil Brunbridge (spelling) CHarlie Hayden, Ray Brown, CHristian Mcbride

Vibes
Lionel Hampton (can't think of any more lolol)

Drums

Try the miles davis Quintet, the modern jazz quartet.......you knwo...

Okay if you really really really really really want to get a clue about jazz LIsten to Mainstream Jazz on NPR..

And buy the Ken Burns JAZZ 10 dvd set and get started knowing exactly what you want to hear to build your colection.

THat will be an invaluable 150 dollars that will make you sport a woody every time you think about jazz.
