Here is my tribute to Roland Kirk
from the last Cabaradio

1968 Roosevelt Hotel where Camden Yards now stands. Was an old beat seven or ten story hotel.

In the basement with street level access was a small baltimore bar.

Hang out for ...

There was a bumper sticker sized sign on the mirror behind the bar.

It read:
"Have a nice trip"

Three peace band playing>piano, bass, flute

I can still almost hear them.

I think the flute is an amazing instrument. I am pretty sure it was a flute. She was a Student at the Peabody Conservatory up in Mt. Vernon Square.

It was a trip to sit out in the little park across from the Peabody on a nice day when they had the windows open and the music swirled around the square.

Hey LR Jeff Healey is from here, he owns a blues bar in downtown Toronto, and is considered by the 3 jazz radio stations we have to be go to guy as the official local jazz historian....

I think he plays guitar better but that's just me

I suppose jazz history is something that you can only do by braille
