This is a sort of dark bluegrass thing. So, it's blackgrass.

Excellent! I love it!

Sounds almost like Indian (as in India not American Indian) or Middle-Eastern bluegrass. heh.. . quite a unique sound!

What instruments are you playing?

Thanks!

I can see where you're getting the Indian/Middle-Eastern thing. I used a scale that includes intervals that aren't found in Western popular music (including bluegrass) outside of certain breeds of heavy metal. These particular intervals produce a dark and mysterious tone, which is why I used them. They're also found in nearly all Near East musical traditions, where they are sometimes dark & mysterious and sometimes cheerful & spicy, depending on what else is going on. (As I'm sure you're aware, music is all about CONTEXT)

There's an acoustic guitar, a banjo, and a mandolin in there, and also another guitar that I digitally dropped an octave to serve as the bass.

neat breakdown mars

(I want to hear a drone instrument in there....a harmonica or a bagpipe or a jews harp)

I would love to hear your interpretation of one of these songs:

The Book
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

The Poet's Eye

Sure, I could do that. Hm. Now I gotta decide which one to do.
