Nice find, eLRod.
A little flashback -
I saw a Zappa concert in the Bay Area, circa 1969. Zappa's was undoubtedly the most bizarre and theatrical of all the concerts I had seen during that time, hands down. Dada on drugs for the audience.
Nobody at all like Zappa and his music... nada, zero, period. A category totally of his own... the man was totally unique as anyone who has listened to any of his albums will attest. It was puzzling to many of us that Zappa was so straight (no drugs, no booze)... even his house was reportedly very 1950-ish in it's styling. All that and his looks and his kid's names somehow didn't fit that image at all.
btw: in his early band, the drummer, Jimmy Carl Black, ("the Indian of the group"), lived his later years in our area and recently died in Europe while undergoing some cancer treatment... somewhat of a legend in his own right in these parts.
