Makes me proud to be a country music fan. Oi. I have no taste in music. It is all noise to me. I think I will delete this thread. It is too embarrassing.

it was pathetic. I used to like that song.

I don't delete as much as I used to.

I usually just say that so someone will come to the rescue

I guess you knew that.

Thanks for the reply

I met Old Hank a long time ago when I was living at the mission in Nashville and going to Quaker meetings.

The song is a parody of Family Tradition, A song he wrote after he fell off a mountain in Colorado back in the seventies. Smashed him into bits and pieces. Supposedly the song was inspired by the question the doctor who put him back to gether asked him about how did he get in that condition .

But I am a sucker for songs about Family Traditions.

a lotta good ol' Hank did for his republican ticket...
the public spoke out and tossed him into the thicket

why did he pick 'em?
why didn't he think?
what was on that man's mind
for supportin' McCain and lil' Mz Pink?

goodness me i hear him singing that song
and it drives me crazy but only for so long
turn off that man's music... of which i used to like
but somethin' crawled up his damn craw
and now ol' Hankie-poo needs to take a hike...

leave us in peace Hank,
you and that Chuck Norris guy
y'all talk about lovin' your country
but yer both way off track...
and soundin' like yer both lyin'

why did they pick 'em?
why don't they think?
what was on them guys minds
when they picked McCain and lil' Mz Pink?

About Hank Jr
Well they say time loves a hero
but only time will tell
If he's real, he's a legend from heaven
If he ain't he was sent here from hell
Lowell George--- Little Feat
I think it was just too much for him to get his head around the possibility that a n*gger could be elected president. He is a cracker head for sure.

I never thought Obama would get elected. I still feel relieved.

About Sarah
She creeps me out!
Yeah, what was McCain thinking?

Did you see the bit about the woman in San Anotonio who was upset with him for using her family name in vain.
The story, "A Maverick?,"which quoted several members of the Maverick family of San Antonio, essentially said McCain should not call himself a maverick -- a term whose etymology goes back to Sam Maverick, but whose current role in the American lexicon is to describe a person who takes an independent stand.

Maverick was a mayor of San Antonio and a Texas cattleman in the middle 19th century. Because he didn't brand his cattle, they were known as Mavericks, now a term for an unbranded, wandering animal or a person who thinks outside the box politically or otherwise.

Grrr...I hate it when musicians create catchy tunes to sway political agendas. :P
