Song Of The Week

Post by Michael » February 3rd, 2011, 10:33 am

Weighing in at #89 is yet another song whining about lost love. It's called "The Love We Shared (When We Cared)".

This song is also from the yet to be released Haven't We Met?

The Love We Shared (When We Cared)

I guess you don’t remember when
our love began to grow.
I guess the past is something that
you just don’t want to know.
Still the same, I recall
things we said filled with all
the love we shared
when we cared.

In my mind, there lives a time
when everything seemed right,
when I believed the love we shared
was permanent and tight.
Did you believe or pretend?
Why’d you feel you had to end
the love we shared
when we cared?

Loneliness is a price I never
dreamed I’d have to pay.
I never thought I’d see the time
when you would go away.
I felt secure all the while
because I saw in your smile
the love we shared
when we cared.

Inspiration for lyrics: You know the drill
Inspiration for musical style: Believe it or not, Steelers Wheels song "Stuck In The Middle With You". If you listen really closely, you'll hear the similarity - or not.

To friendship,
Michael
