Wow. I just heard about this.....
don't know about you, but this jazz giant played the hammond b-3 like nobody's business....
Dang, I love the B-3, and the way Jimmy played it was heaven.
Got any Jimmy Smith?

yeah

Jimmy Smith tuned the B-3 from a church and cafeteria instrument
into a jazz instrument

and the rockers like Booker T and Stevie Wynnewood and Al Kooper
took it to the sky. I think the B-3 is the perfect rock instrument

Again I say, NO SHIT it is a great rock instrument.

It's a great Jazz instrument too...
Take Houston Person on sax, Joey DeFrancesco on B-3.
Their version of blue velvet is orgasmic......
I"m sure Jimmy loved it.....being as he was Joey's influence.
