That could be a print, an ink drawing, or a paper collage-assembly, the illusion of bas-relief. Kool, sister! Looks likr the gargoyles are gonna get their girl! A tropical dream with Gothic undertones. Moohaahaaa.

Cool. I didn’t even notice the bas-relief thing till you mentioned it. The drawing did begin as a collage-assembly. After the drawing was finished I decided that I will have to add color and put it to canvas. I don’t know if they’ll get the girl or not. I was watching music videos, and they kept playing the ones that have a few guys surrounded by women in bikini tops and short shorts. I have no clue what happens after the final cut.

Nice work, abstroint . . .
Some inspiration, from the greatest jungle painter of them all ( and one of my favorite artists . . .)
HENRI ROUSSEAU

I love that first painting. The red scattered through the jungle kept me looking, then I noticed the tiger looked scared. Why is the tiger frightened? A painting that makes me think is always a great work, allowing me to journey through not only the interaction of colors….but my own journey through questions and answers. So, thunderstorms frighten tigers? I love it! I can hear the thunder.
His use of bright colors, even in the moonlight captures all my senses. I can hear what the gypsy will play, if allowed to wake.
Why has the lion not pounced on, and eaten the gypsy?
Thank you for sharing the paintings. I had only seen The Sleeping Gypsy before today.

tigers are vanishing their natural habitats are few only a scattering of preserves in china and russia from what i can gather, not tropical, but temperate to chilly, they are afraid and bewildered.
i had forgotten about rosseau and am glad as well to see his masterpiece and two other works.
abstroint is your conception a dream?
are the gargoyles friendly? i do notice the same kind of dream quality to it that zman left us with in the rosseau primitives, yet all are conceived and felt with sincerity and grace.

friendly or not? the intent maybe to be friendly but the perception could be something entirely different...don't know. I may have all the answers, in my dreams.
I feel that once a drawing is complete the interpretation is left to the viewer, that a visual piece is only successful if it leaves you with more questions than answers. I'd rather spark thought that leads to another’s truth than to demand anyone absolutely come to my conclusions.
