one of the most banal and annoying pieces of rock and roll
I used to have to play the damned thing
when I hear it, it's like fingernails on the blackboard

First time I heard it was in Happy Jack's saloon, Morro Bay California. I thought it was a slow dance number then somebody sang, "I can't change" and every body started to boogie. It is weird how bad my taste in music is, I can hardly hear the music, always tapping my foot to some other drummer. I used to like The Yellow Rose of Texas until I heard the guy that wrote it say it was the worst song he ever wrote.

I grew up before rock and roll, The hit songs of my day were things like How Much Is That Doggie In The Window as heard on The Lucky Strike Hit Parade,
