Dear Jan

Post by the mingo » July 22nd, 2012, 12:06 pm

Dear Jan,

I found a squirrel jaw bone in the woods. I may string it for a necklace with other odds & ends. You can see it, can't you? The scavengers are done with the carcass and I can go back for the toe bones at my leisure.

I heard about your troubles. They will pass. It would be truly terrible to be stuck there with no way out. That's what hell is all about. Don't let go of hope, because if you do no one has ever come back from that.

I'm looking at a photograph of you. We've gone digital here since you went away. I didn't realize until yesterday that you were born but a few months after me. It took me by surprise.

Take care of the moment. It's all anyone ever has and that not for long.

later, my Love
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Jan is a lucky girl to have you writing to her such beautiful letters, mingo.
`Do you know, I was so angry, Kitty,' Alice went on...`when I saw all the mischief you had been doing, I was very nearly opening the window, and putting you out into the snow! And you'd have deserved it, you
little mischievous darling!

beautiful--- like this....
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Mingo this was written from the heart. Your compassion for Jan shines through your lyrical prose. Most excellent and uplifting read tonight.
