mystery of love

(what works for me)
Love...the most misunderstood form of energy. My interpretation of
this power is not any of the standard definitions. It almost defies
comprehention. And it is surely easier to describe what love is not,
than to explain what it is... but here's a good effort.
Like an emotion, it is an individual expression of the self. But by
itself, a form of inner enrichment, seeded within the spirit. It is
the fundamental blueprint engraved in all things. The best realistic
definition that I can accept is simply, the life force. Not just that
of humans, or of nature, but of every substance or partical or thing
that exists. It is... what god is. And equally, it is what we are.
It cannot be lost, or found. It cannot be created, or destroyed. And
most importantly, it cannot be given, or recieved. It is integrated
within the human being, and is inseparable. In the human body, it is
felt throughout our nervous system... (the actual feeling of it). So, it
combines our physiology and our spirituality. And it is the greatest
connection between the human, the spirit, and the creator.
Your supply of love cannot be added to, or subtracted from. And it is
yours, alone. It can only be expanded, or contracted. Happiness is...
exactly the same, as you cannot be given happiness. And equally so,
your happiness cannot be taken away. It is only up to you, in choosing
how much you express it, or how much you repress it.
Love is not possessive, but possessed. All that we can do with this
possession, is express it, and feel it, as expressed through others.
In a relationship, the level of love's expression constantly varies.
And that one relies on recieving love from the other, is the danger,
as it cannot happen. The thought of it is absolutely false and unreal.
A relationship of love should be something like the following...
A side by side trek, as individuals, toward the same goal. Not either one
posssessing the other, nor the wanting to. Yet, with common mind in
seeking, and in common respect, suppporting one another as is needed,
as the journey to that common goal progresses... sharing in heart, soul,
mind and body, their expressions of love with one another. And that's it.
Commitment... is a whole other story, and equally mysterious.
