Power and greatness are mastery of the buzz. Bend space. Fold history in on itself until the streams cross and unleash splines of logic unheard of before.... high gloss, pinhole jets, translucent sheets, shot through rifts in final prophecy.... a deep, wide floe come full circle, a frozen loop of faith. In this dismal deep space eddy I could once float....note a planet's steady rotation under an embarrassment of warmth.

On the eighth day, God made war in the image of buzz. God, the buzz. Pledge allegiance to the buzz. Deify the word above all else, the typeset image, chapter and verse. Worship the coming final battle. The latest collision of belief will shed another full spectrum of light, unable to get past the event horizon, crushed under its own imploded gravity, its own collapsed star.

Speechwriters already know this.... funny, the translation difficulties. Lips move. Sentences form.... with economy and impact, beneath a rippled image of the messiah, glimpsed from rock-bottom of the glacier.... soft, filtered light.... freedom encased in its tomb. No turning back now.

An interesting read, mnaz... very interesting. I'll have to give it another read or two to get the full impact as I know there was a discharge of soul upon my first reading., and a good discharge of soul is about the best reading I know of, and my friend, you are getting to be a dang good soul seeker... my kinda guy!

Good to hear from ya..

.....a not-yet-fully-realized rant here, I guess.... I've kicked it around for awhile, but I'm tired of messing with it.... I thought I'd just post it and get it done with.... I actually removed a lot of what I wrote..... (no guts).

Remember the old adage: "actions speak louder than words"? Man, what a lie that is. It´s all about trading on the "buzz".... saying the right powerful words at the right time, repeatedly. Do this effectively and often enough and you become a great and powerful "leader". Your actions.... your actual record.... cease to really matter at some point.

And as for those who wish to make world war and End Times an imminent possibility (a self-fulfilling prophecy) through their actions, or their refusal to hold their leader's actions accountable..... well, this rant is dedicated to them..... We're all guilty of this, unwittingly, to some extent.... but I'm talking about the big things.... like re-electing "leaders" who start wars, decimate environmental protections, and bankrupt the treasury.... those sorts of things....

Think of it as free will put on permanent ice.... an unstoppable glacier. Freedom looks up from its tomb at the bottom of this glacier....

or something like that.

There, I feel better....

tsunami, as if it is headed our way, on the surface we have a calm sea, and the dear leader makes his speeches and we know the word is quicker then the eye, but deep under the surface something is slouching towards Bethlehem.

a tsunami of greed..... wars to ensure profit for the shareholders.... the military as a corporate division, or subsidiary.... freedom licensed to the highest bidder.... fear used to maintain power.... all of those things, if anyone´s watching....

Good analogy, btw..... a tsunami is just a ripple out on the open sea, but when it reaches the shore, when it breaks, when the unseen, violent, destructive energy bill comes due....

A speech well made. Another speech and skein of words but this one trying to be a little spade on the beach of lies.

Orwell realized that controlling speech and language meant controlling people, but he also saw the possibilities you hint at in your piece: the transformation of lie into action into lie.

For there must be the follow-up lie ( we call it spin) for the "man of action" ( here in California with the schools draining away before our eyes, it's Arnold-- "Join me" his campaign went, not-- "vote for me . . ."

In the midst of Winston's torture in "1984", O'Brien permits the victim to ask one question of his torturer, "Does Big Brother exist?"
"Of course he exists . . ." O'Brien snaps back.

"But does he exist as a man exists? Does he exist as I exist?"

"You do not exist . . ." O'Brien assures him.

The hate language, the language of expediency, of translating blowing off the arms of a four-year-old into "Bringing Freedom" erases us, as it erase our dissent.

When our language has been erased, we have been erased.

I was taught how the Last Days would unfold in Sunday School, a couple decades ago. Now that many "believers" here in the U.S. have attained power, I see them making free will choices in policy (consciously or perhaps unconsciously) which steer us all in that "prophetic" direction....

These people are irresponsible radicals, extremists.... many of them unfit for office. They are the antithesis of the "conservative" smokescreen they hide behind.
