the town of rainier is like an after thought- something they needed- no sense of planning, just by the river-typical small river town, a tabacco store- couple service stations, and a park-a dentist- and a masonic place- and a whole lot rolling up and down the columbia river-logging guys, fishing guys, biker guys- total fucktards and the like-
my room mate did not believe me when i told her the washer and dryer were fried-some people thing as long as they are 'running' that they work-not so-
however they fritzed- and she was willing to go vagabonding around to her friends doing a load here and there- i am too proud, too arrogant and cannot deal with that much socialization- and over my dirty laundry.
so i did what all americans learned at a youn age- i took over the laundromatt- with all big bags of blankets and towels and work out clothes and my cute little laundry pods i got from cost co- well here comes a tall logger kinda dude and i guess that middle leg was kinda enlarged- he said'" hey ya wana come live with me?'i said' just like that huh?'
he says well-
I said 'that seems kinda fast for me but thanks.'then he went and changed his coat and hat and thought he was dick van dyke headed for the park- maybe mary poppins will show up- i dunno-
but then- here comes - henry- this guy with long gray hair in a braid- he says' are you dating anyone?"
i said 'no- it leads to trouble and started laughing' like nothing can stop me=from that laughter-anyway- i left with clean clothes thinking'some laundromatt'

laundromatt
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Re: laundromatt
I could say... if you've been to one laundromat, yada-yada-yada
But they are a unique... venue of sort. Surly some part of life that is worth mention, in the realm of poets... and their dirty laundry.
That one in Sidney had a rented guard on duty, to make sure one didn't put any oily "rig clothes" in the machines... crude oil doesn't come out in the wash. It just sorta sticks to anything it touches.
Far Rockaway has a nice new one, if you were allowed into the hood.
And in Tempe... Arizona, you could learn a new language each week,
from the international mix of ASU students.
Anyway, those places are just perfect, like a slice of pie... a part of
the whole of existence.
