ruby dakota
she walked in places that most people couldnt go- her body had the strength that went beyond the physical- her long braided hair framed her high cheekbones- she spoke =if she had to- listening always to the sounds of nature- that shield would come out- and that little arrowhead she wore around her neck got moist with sweat' 'that will not fly here!" she yells in a smiling but authoritative voice- when she got you in a locked eyes- men backed away.
that eagle flew from deep inside her- and even changed that fine female face into something much like a bald eagle- she had a hawk feather tatooed on her right arm- she looked like she was more than 'another woman'.she didnt take any shit off anyone.that was that.
there were stories... of where she had come from... an island... africa... europe... there were stories of her warrior sons. Of an italian king-of the beaches of Africa- of places-that money meant nothing- that your surrvival was the fortuna-
luck- she scoffed
they had all been here- even the witches of beyond the river s time-she spoke quietly when she thought about the things those women had done- and all that damage-but in the spiritual realm = sloppiness is the wrost.' she winced-some energy came thru- 'geez i am tired of everyone thinking they are somebody'
after that last ceremony = praying for her enimeies healing- - when she sang the world opened up-
she couldnt wait for the month of july to roll up- for these creatures that only came out when the things are going well have left-fair weather friends- people trying to sell workshops and plants and soap- and thier own brande of spiritual- 'thats not the way i was taught'
pleasssse- the wrost of the witches- was shriveling as we speak= her hair was falling out- her hips hurt and her back ached- her motives were like thorns sticking everyone-
ruby wanted to cut her braid and take her down- ruby was waiting for her demise- one mistake- for all the harm she caused the people= the rain stopped = she dried further until she looked like an apricot-and went back to the earth. the children were taught never to eat from that tree because she will steal your soul in the sweetness of the fruit.
she feined some kindness- as she sauntered out of the room- Ruby walked- away- blackness came from the witches mouth-- shocked the witch felt her plans were foiled again-the red butterflies came and sent her away- her black wings were thick with nicotine and animal fat- she was feremented and rotting- complaining as her bones groan under the weight of the lies- the smoke- the betrayals-
'oh it has been so long ruby'
YES it has - spins on her heels away from her-
ruby suddenly had the face of a raccon with fast and clean hands-
that eagle flew from deep inside her- and even changed that fine female face into something much like a bald eagle- she had a hawk feather tatooed on her right arm- she looked like she was more than 'another woman'.she didnt take any shit off anyone.that was that.

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

with raccoon hands and a smile like an eagle before he takes the small dog from the old lady- she walks away- away from the chatter and small talk- away from the desires of other people-when it was clear again- there seemed to be more air- no pressure-
she saw past the dead eyes- that when these folks were not here trying to be better than they were for a weekend- they went home and did the same ole stuff they always did- and wndered why they were not happy-
ruby dakota looked a bit disappionted- like a child that had hoped for more from the whole thing- like holding hands and singing kumbaya wasnt going to work- she was tired of the denial- the lies, the sadness -the families seemed to be suffering the most in this economy- where the children are left to empty houses because they had to work for $ the parents did the best they could- and while people were just 'doing heir jobs' the planet was dying- an the lawns got mowed- with gasoline powered mowers and weed whackers- and all in the name of neatness and beauty-
the music played somewhere in the background- the homestead for the future was calling to her this morning- what to do first- -- thinking deeply -- she thought about what these people would do if the earth changes really do happen- will they have food? water? will there be anyone that knows how to hunt? it s all in the cards-

love the coffee- and with you- it is an experience i savor- at the end of a long day of learning and listening- and going to my favorite junk store in the middle of nowhere- for a ribbon- i drove a few miles - to put on my dress- filled with water and bears - eagles and green grasses and the marshes call me early- blue herons fly close and stare deep into my soul- and i think- about all the places we will go and how we will get there- and then i have some coffee- whipped creme- and a cookie hidden from my room mate who will not eat white sugar- i have watched her lose 30 pounds- ----------now i do honey- what happened to that woman that used to live with me- ruby dakota says sugar rots your soul- the white man brought to us- hawaiians say the same thing-i say gimmie the white dope- pies cakes cookies- give me the shit-
im waiting.......
no ==not that SUGAR-
SO now i ==am reduced to other entertainment- no cigs - no booze- dang- i know what is left- coffee

Re: ruby dakota
i been thinking of dropping the sugar because I drink so much coffee and I like sugar in the brew - every cup - but a switch to honey would not hurt that situation ... and yeah you're right age has it's compensations i suppose but still it calls on you to give up things that you like - sometimes I consider or even bow to the wisdom of that but other times just say to hell with wisdom I'm gonna do what I'm gonna do and these days I don't do much that I don't like to do

in hiding or the coding of a great politicization
something so obviously too big for the publisher's market
great reading
radical stuff
