ruby and the elder

Post by creativesoul » June 11th, 2013, 10:23 pm

so the dakotas were in front of her- she was looking pretty lounge chair mama today packing up shit like phone chargers- us indians have iphones - and convoys to spots in the middle of nowhere- to build a lodge- or to do a pipe ceremony- rain, mudd- nothing will stop us- doing stuff with skirts on because it is traditional- gathering-willow, and gathering sage and dancing- until there is an opening- release and it is all gone- prayed over- in the light- no matter -with one lung dragging and a weasel in her pocket=she sat in her chair-waiting for the next thing to do- everything hurt- because everything wants to stay the same- and that kind of inertia doesnt fly here-tired- because there are people that would like to see her fail- but it would not benefit anyone if that were to happen-=
the spirits were helping her to 'get there' - the body was expanding and contracting- and the sunlight was brighter than usual- sleeping intermititantly- while the dream catchers blew eagle plumes on her hair-
she thought about the whole thing- long time ago - never thought i would really get to here- she thought she was dead too many times-laughs
the medicine was working=quietly- no thunder bolts= just sweet gentle lessons-
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

The elder told her that she was safe- ruby waited- she knew words and people- they said things- fine. Totally oblivious- to people's sensitivities- "they talk to hear themselves think- " ......or not- she told me to just stay connected focused " no matter what"
New territory- new dance- fear crept up like a fox looking for sheep... Hidden - waiting- hungry-- the sweetness of the air- grass in the dogs fur- the elder knew things- kept her out of trouble
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

i never wanted things to stay the same just that the things that were good to get better as the time went on but that kind of spin on inertia don't fly here either ... many good things have been let fall to the ground - now it's all turbos and bells & whistles & super sized & super ships & 'puters to carry under your arm or in your backpack - don't know what's been lost because I got the notion it was lost before we were born - the ancestors of all peoples let it slip through their fingers almost without any thought whatsoever - still, this too is just a notion & we wander from this to that after just a notion of wisdom - just a notion ... my elder was my uncle - he had no notions of wisdom - he did say however that the height of common sense was to eat, drink, be glad in the days, have regular bowel movements, & dance when the opportunity was present - of course he would bullshit you blue at the drop of a hat just because he could & for his own entertainment - he ended his days eating the moonplants that grew out back of his place on the manure pile next to the shed where he kept his horse in an attempt to doctor himself or have a vision - I'm not sure which - the raw plants gave him seizures of course and hastened his departure from these lands - i've often thought that he was not crazy like everybody said but knew exactly what he was doing ...

I like the elements- crazy - has been used as a term to invalidate what seems strange- and to make what we think appear as intelligence - as neglects as the sacred has been- it returns when least expected- any place other than here- would be a an illusion- " talking heads songs in a factory outlet store- efforts to - claim what is mine- are sometimes- difficult- there are energy suckers everywhere-
