Roundscape Part 12

Post by mnaz » November 3rd, 2017, 7:15 pm

"Where are you?"
"Back in the Mojave."
"And how does it feel?"
"I'm closer to true shape."
"You're too close to Vegas."
"Land curves out here, no cliffs."
"But aren't cliffs natural too?"
"Until they're worn and rounded."
"Yeah, no right angles out there."
"I went to see the Abo ruins."
"Oh god that old stone church."
"It's eroding faster than rock."
"Did it have any right angles?"
"They melted awhile ago."

At Abo I saw clouds break like Druid mists passing above a confluence of walls now rounded on top, rising at crazy angles below a misty swirl. In desert space nothing stands between you and time; you'll find remains, the naked truths of things that pass through heat, freeze, sand, wind, glare and stars, through the unnamable days, years, centuries until out of range. You find buildings without roofs, with melted walls.
