if I was a writer
I mean a real god dam writer
I could tell you about tired
I could tell you what it was like
on the road
not that Bodhi road of Jack's
but the low road
the beat homeless
driven trail of tears
but what's the point
don't want to bum you out
all I am saying it was an addiction
only motion would quench
had to keep moving
mile after mile after hour after day after years
but along the way there were respites
when the nightmare and the the driving came together
and I would lay me down to rest or die
and get up and do it some more till I had to fall down and rest or die

but what's the point
don't walnt to bum you out with my bad habits

when I lost the road i was at my wits end
then I stumbled on litkicks and my addiction to motion, the road, was satisfied again
then I was barred because I got on Levi's nerves
and I was lost again till doreen and clay started studio eight
and I was home again

I used to think it was cool when Levi wrote that his "dues fucking paid"
now I realize it was just my vanity.

I been drinking and thinking
Thinking about his mother
a lot
really
she was mean to him
I am so far behind him
I would like to catch up a little
and maybe leave a few crumbs for the young

I need more heroes that lived to be old men
I got too many suicides on my bookshelf

Many's the man or woman
who become captivated upon
reading him
Just got this new bio that I can't put down

Litkicks had a lot of young ones, high school kids, college kids, I felt like I watched them grow up, that is
what made it so cool
a lot of young minds discovering america for the first time

synchronicity
I played with the buttons and shuffled all the posts now every time I come to perpetual this is the post I go to

I got studio eight
I am not a bitter about it

It was a bad time for me
I had I had run out of road
and the road was all I had for twenty years
I found a little garden there
a beat truck stop
I am nothing but grateful for litkicks

it almost happened to me once
Henry Miller escaped the mother's aura
I never did

hearts and hard drives
mean time to failure
about 3 billion spins

Turning faster everyday
I a couple hundred million left
don't want to waste a minute of it worrying about what could have been
doctor say I'll live five years if keep balling this jack

true love first time
it was short but it was sweet
carried me on these past fifty years
just the memory of it
I am old but pretty happy but
Hitomaro is right
May those that are born after me
Never travel such roads of love

not so short
I had plenty of time
it seems like an eternity looking back on it
true love first love yes
I once knew paradise in another life
or so it seems
I had five years
from sweet sixteen never been kissed
to twenty one and almost a virgin
