mornings are cooler
tomatoes still producing
the circumference shrinks down
but the taste holds fast and sweet
there is truth in the weather
she never lies, she bares herself
each morning, we feel her chill
time is her paramour , her seasoning
sprinkled over the plants in the garden
they know all to well their fate
the withering that comes with september
and october's yellowing, the orange of pumpkin
I don't remember any more who I was
a new man full of medicinal concoctions
parades around the house pretending to be me
he's slower and more awkward , he bumps
into the doorway, his perceptions are off
but he tries nonetheless, he smiles nonetheless
he is a man for all seasons despite his alterations
muscle memory and routines fake their way thru the day
nothing to complain about, just noticing the changes

medicinal me I swallow 20 pills and capsules a day
14 in the morning if I keep on doing it the doctor say if I keep balling the jack I might live another day
