a rat
a tat
tat
peck the peep

she sleeps

prey of night
ravens plight

i say
on muddied knees
my cry to thee
to breathe
'neath sugar willowed
billowed dreams

of peace

comfort me
my Valkyrie
ride this wave of sanity

forgive me my calamity
the vanity to scream
this thrush
stuck
ascension
thrust

higher
higher

meeting talons to scry
mirror held in hand
shaking
baking
itching face to bleed

sleep ~ need

deep ~ reprieve

to quench

my disease

wheel of rat-race
cosmic intrusion
above all confusion
1 BIG Flow

forsaking shame
biting as it tumbles
down the drain
and definitely sticky

morning walk a long the tracks
with my foo dog
morning breeze
lifts his long floppy ears
he looks like Dumbo getting ready to fly off.

union pacific freight passing
box cars and gondolas
sweet rolling rumble
just enough jangel
an engineer with an ear
to play a sweet mariachi air horn

return to my crib
sitting here with the
windows open
looking out on
a peaceful garden
with three live oak trees

another spring break day
cool jacket weather
summer doldrums on the way
enjoying this while it lasts

Frederick, man
i was in Olde Towne
found me a ghost
a living relic hiding
in horses and signs
dimes
song o' the times
sailing sailing
gossamer on the tip of my

Guinness
draft

extra head please

mix n match and watch the flask
tip to turn and
ooooooooooohhhh
one sip to lips
with a mustache to boot

sweet call of lyric lute
on summer breeze
the crimp to crease and ease

of Market Street

ambiance,
a lil respite after
6 years in Baltimore
where it's hard to
the core,
Frederick like a
tiny jewel, not
too big, & definitely
not too small..........

another stop on
my wired journey
living in the center
of Frederick & it's
peaceful compared
to the drug gang
streets I've lived
on for the past 5 years
around Hollins market
I watch the HBO WIRE
series now and can only
shake my head at
the pure drama that
exists there.........
someday at a distance
I'll be able to look back
with wonder....
right now everything is
confusingly fresh and
i'm still spinning from
the whirlwind life I've
been leading......
sitting beneath my wireman show
talking to you and D and J thru
the miracle of cyberspace
it's a rainy night and day here
heading into the humid languidness
of a mid-atlantic summer
gonna put my pack on
head out on those catoctin trails
as the summer begins and then
burns along...with relish &
complete abandon..........
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Yes, the rain

this rain

that rain

the rain falling now in Frederick
is filling the bowl
and threatens to overflow
onto the table ledge
of field, farm and wood

this rain

that rain

has a way of finding itself
on my doorstep

(Welcome to Frederick, WIREMAN)

change wireman,
i understand change.
i understand what is missed,
and what is welcomed.
going through some of the same
myself.
your words paint it nice.
or should i say,
wire it just right!
mmmmm...
thanks.

may your journey
be a bliss-full one,
may you find,
in the places you
travel to,
every
desire
on your heart,
in the sunny times
and the rainy times.

so it is.

nice shoot by doreen at the top
sun shinning through the clouds
a storm coming
or leaving

changes
I don't hardly ever notice them anymore
it is a constant
sometimes I wake up in the worning and try to remember where I am at
there has been so many ceilings above my head
a few times I have woke up and could not remember my name

change
only one thing stays the same they say
jesus christ yesterday today and forever
but I think that is wrong too
cause it ain't the same to me anymore
but then I ain't the same either

The only thing that never changes for me is my need to love

I have learned not to hang on to anything
I had to do a background check to get my US Customs cartman's license so I could haul steam ship containers from the marine terminals to the rail yards. That was back in the early eighties. THey wanted to know everyplace I had ever lived for the past ten years. Every job too. After about an hour of me writing down all the places they told me to hurry up and just give them the highlights.

And since then I have had countless more jobs and homes
I am a human tumbling weed.

Women there have only been seven
all beautiful
all kind
and they all had to cut me loose
and I tried to hang on

I don't know why but
sometimes no change depresses me

the weather here gets into a rut during the summer doldrums
day after day of high humidity high temps and over cast sky
I been out of sync with the weather since I left Baltimore
WHere ever I am I am always from someplace else
The best home I have ever had was being on my way from one place to some other place
they say a door closes
a window opens
but sometimes I want the roof to fall in too.

rain rain go away
come again another day
wireman could use some sunshine today

I am afraid to ask about your dog.

It's going to be another beautiful day in paradise
Another cold front is here

did I really say I never hang onto anything anymore?
what a crock of sh.t
I cling desperately to life
as I draw another ragged breath
and light another merit ultra light
almost six dollars a pack and me trying to live on five dollars a day.
that is an expensive death wish.

and the worms crawl in and the ants play pinocle

and I play kick the can with that mysterious blip in my lung

raggedman thanks for the welcome
keep jammin'
WB...you always make me smile
ST my soul brother
Zorba's ok & with 2 other goldens
at a beautiful home in the rolling hills
of Harford Co. MD
Chief the cat is missing after the fire
he was my boy
CJ's headed for the road the Gypsy
she loves to be
all is change
I always relish the
time at hand
good or bad I
take it in with
deep breaths
moving on
new shows in
music and art
new friends
old friends coming
from Germany to play
in May & D & LRod
at the end of the month
at my RAGA-BLUES show
windy day the rain is spitting
the tower cranes down
i'm resting and forever
remembering good times.........
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

relish the time at hand
even sitting in the waiting room with turkey feathers in my nose

I relish the time at hand
I relish the space
I have put down roots
Long ago
the souls of my feet go deep
so that where ever I stand
is holy ground

funny I have more desire to see Frederick Maryland again than I do Baltimore. All I got to do in Baltimore is visit graves.
