you don't trust me
you don't trust me
you don't trust me
i'm not on your t.v. news
i'm not published
i'm not on letterman
i'm not a celebrity
you don't trust me
i don't support wars
i don't support stupidity
i don't support pharmaceuticals
i don't support grapevines
you don't trust me
we've never met at starbucks
we've never shaken hands in the mall
we've never gotten drunk together
we've never laughed under the same full moon
you don't trust me
i wear glasses
i wear sandals in the winter
i wear tee shirts that have my art work
i wore out my welcome at 17 parties
you don't trust me
i have no recognition
i have no brand name
i have no write-ups in people magazine
rolling stone has never heard of me
you don't trust me
i never finished college
i opine on politics and economies
i interrupt quite moments with smiles
i don't eat mammals
you don't trust me
i am not an american success story
i don't work for anyone
i earn little money
i bore people with philosophical ruminations
you don't trust me
i no longer salute the flag
i salute freedom and the individual
i abhor intentional ignorance
i listen to my own silence
you don't trust me
i favor the death of poverty
i dream of better living
i suspend my beliefs
i do not golf
you don't trust me
i make images with paint and ink
i write what goes thru my head
i sing out of key
i read periodicals
you don't trust me
i've never finished the bible
i've never finsihed leaves of grass
i've never finished shakespeare
i've never finished anything i didn't like
you don't trust me
i enjoy getting into your head
i enjoy solving your problems
i enjoy sharing my alcohol
i enjoy seeing you laugh
you don't trust me
i want to know your fantasies
i want to know your past
i want to know what makes you tick
i want to know why i know you
you don't trust me
but trust me - i trust you...

Ten fouryou don't trust me
i've never finished the bible
i've never finsihed leaves of grass
i've never finished shakespeare
i've never finished anything i didn't like
or should I say
me too
just drove to Austin and back in rush hour traffic
I don't drive like a maniac
I don't change lanes four times in less than a minute
I don't drive a SUV
I don't ride on your rear bumper
I don't try to intimidate you
I drive the speed limit or a little faster to flow with the traffic
I don't feel compelled to get to the front of a line of traffic that stretches from Canada to Mexico
I don't pass people on the get on ramp
The insanity of normal people
Away frowm their cars they are wonderful people
Probably
To tired to think
Just a road weary ramble
Thanks cecil
I liked it a lot
going to read it again after I get some sleep
A wonderfu book called Zen And The Art of Driving
Not so deep as the motor cycle book
just about the driving.
I wish it was required reading for every teen age driver.
