i know a guy
ain't got a dog
& when he gets lonely
its just "Hey baby!,
Ya wanna hog?"

o jerkle cirk child
out in the weeds with
your crooked teeth clicking
it's not your fault or your mother's ya know
that ya got here this way
with no place to go

so hog on my friend
we're related its true
you with your brain damage
and me with my blues
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

I saw a crow once.
He was knocked out
flatter than a doornail,
from flying into a tree,
that was dressed up
like a dove.
As he lay there,
unconscious,
several jeolous magpies
were flying in cartoon circles
around his head.
Their screeches were loud,
like flying hyena's,
if you can imagine that.
I realized,
it was quite possible,
that the crow was merely
pretending to be dead.
I didn't blame him at all.
"I am a victim of society, and, an entertainer"........DW

I have
I have always
expected
to live forever
I could be disapointed
but even so
I will at least live till I die
at least till I die
I have cooked chicken soup many times
spread chicken smaltz on rye

Freedom is just another word
and I still got plenty left to loose

a streetcar nameddesire
I have rode it many times
and when it would make the turn at eastern a caroline
sometimes the sparks would fly

I remember those glass milk bottles
before homogenization
with the cream on top
and frozen in the winter
pushing the paper cap off like a hat on a column of milk fat

life was good
in the 19 forties
when John Wayne and Ronald Reagon were risking their lives in hollywood combat
and japenese were yellow insects
and all the evil in the world was over seas

but most of all I remember mama
like a a perfumed haiku
leaning over to kiss me good night

no sturcture
no rhyme
no meter
no beat
just a go

o i use
all my many confusions
for fuel
i roll past the kind
i roll past the cruel
a little bird asks me
"where ya goin' to?
o cousin bird, what can
i tell you? wherever it is
it appears a fact
i can tell from the graveyards
i won't be coming back!
Zoo scat a do!
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
