if that's the case,
it's a good thing 50 dollars isn't at hand,
'cause nobody beats the man..

when my writing starts to sound like dr suess unintentionally
it's time to take a vacation from writing entirely

tomorrow i'm going to the sea

i will rhyme often though
keeps my mind fresh

poetry is music to me

most songs have rhymes

though i respect dr. suess enormously
(the man was a genius, it's true)

i edited my post so it didn't inadvertently
sound like him

because my lines were not children's poetry
and that wasn't my intention

Theodor Seuss Geisel (aka dr. seuss) was not as well known for his political cartooning as he was for his children's cartooning and poetry. But he sold a lot of these, I'm pretty sure, to major publications.

Pretty cool!

Saw a show on pbs about him some years back and i truly believe he was a genius.

jam jar screwed
on tight
open sesame
tahini and tofu
wakeboard orange juice sky line
fine line
tween madness and genius
my genes are fading fast
if i die before i wake
let me fly the heavenly skies

Dr. Seuss was just in my head
from some other posts that were said...
power of suggestion, and where it led,
wiki'd the man just to see what it read..

Fascinated by things so simple that impact.
yes.. just fifty words in Green Eggs y Ham,
and all monosyllabic, except 'a-ny-where'..
it is rated between ages four to eight,
& age forty-eight can still appreciate,
Well I can still re-late, at any rate...

if I were to be a rhymin' fool,
then it must be a glorious Saturday mornin'...

Yes, he was a treasure.
A creative power, no doubt!

If I could have known him
I would have known him,
I am a devout admirer.

Maybe if I did,
he would have said,
"Get that Doreen Peri,
and hire her!"

;)

kindly and departed
sounds like home

my phone rings constantly
I don't have caller ID
I am listed
I hang up a lot

Ah me
this must be an jam
if it is about language
spontaneous
un pre meditated joy

of tippy tapping keys
like a reggae blues man.
no getting by dese blues man
blue sued shoes
jitterbugging at the YMHA
on a wood basketball court
in another time zone
some where up ahead
it every text box is spooky
with goofy possibilities
it must be jam

she got the moxy with the toxy de-oxy

darwin told of man's descent

who will speak of woman's ascent

If I am at a lost for words

if i can't stop

even so

this must be a jam

Going going Gone
Go
fingers find their words
and I sit and watch them flow.

I am toxified
mortified
petrified
and fossilzed
and happy to be alive

a mother and child
an unbroken chain
immortal
that flows through my veins
and links me to to my mothers before me

thanks mom
thanks dad
thanks for the fishies in the deep blue sea
with the boom boom boom
and the yabba dabba do
life's been good to me
so far

cranking up my moxy
it ain't easy
nighttime bizarrities
lay me awake
adrenalin hits
if i could, i'd tell the alleycats
to quit their jam session

tin cans rolling
leaps from shed to tree
cries in the darkness

if i could, i'd tell those cats
to sow their wild oats
in some distant field

poor old tom cats
got a hard row to ho

so many veterans
I have slept behind

to keep the faith
and close my eyes

pounding slamming down
some mountain road in colorado

got to sleep
despite my fears.

cause he has to take a turn in the sleeper too
and counts on me to be wide eyed and bush tailed on my driving stint

old "happy" one of the best combat vets
I ever teamed with

he would tell me to sleep fast
and I would.

and the trains go bye in the night
a hundred yards away from the foot of my bed

the car alarms go off in the night
the ambulances scream by

I don't know how I manage to sleep
Adrenalin turns sour

happiness is a warm gun they say
I been thinking about getting one

I been locking my door at night lately
I have grown so complacent

rock a by baby
I wish I had a lullaby poem for you

something sweet
with a raga beat/

hobo lullabye
to soothe the weary mind
if i had arlo's song, i'd be up at dawn
after a dreamy R.E.M.

salutations to your fine taste, stilltruckin
