Dad the golfer
the weatherman
my friend Dad
could take one look
at my golf swing
and fix it in an instant.
Jumpin' Jack the high
high jumper, like those
Plymouth's with fins,
and California dreams,
we migrated there
twice when I was a kid,
just packed us all up
and headed down ol 66
like 1960's pioneers in
a '62 Tempest with fins,
Jack the man I introduced to
Henry Miller and changed his
life in the '70's, the man who
finished his life writing his ass off.........................

somebody's got a happy dad
why not brag about him
fill us in on crazy car trips out west
family in loose grip of reality
but knew familiar freindship
not contested territory
some pack of birds on a wire...

in D.C. man

Down in Buzzard Point, the marina there, sailing yachts, and my 17-foot lightning
Sailed the Potomac from Lady Byrd’s fountain down past Marshall Hall; one day I will make it to the Chesapeake.
As good as it gets

Family saga's happy are sweet, those of us that limp use them as stepping stones. I think I wrote a ku about your dad, a loving memory that helps me stay in touch.

palm springs kalifornia '63
take a left at indio....head to
the heights, las wages bound
lil tempest runnin' full throttle
hard as she can....BAM!!!!!!!
blown engine stranded in a
place of magic call it 29 palms
stayin' at a lil adobe motel
with lizards runnin' round like
rats in the city do...hot and we're
lucky there's a frozen custard stand
just down the hill in front of joshua tree
heaven.....nights spent at drive-in movie
triple features with marines and chicks
foggin' up the windows as we sit in our
loaner 51 ford watchin' the whole show
I remember the thrill of headin' back to
La-La land with my dad to get a new
engine block...there it was the city of
angels with that blue pacific behind it
ready to reach out and touch....yeah we be
california dreamers of the enlightening kind..............

I feel big change
empowering change
maybe it's cause I've
been laboring real
hard lately, maybe it's
that I've felt stifled,
that the wheels are
startin' to spin a lil too
much, maybe it is time
to talk to the trees and feel
the joy of peaceful silence
once more.........................

wireman
changing
at a deep level
within

at a root level

bending the wires
rewiring
new wires
new colours
new sensations
new vibrations

returning home
and moving on
all at once

a pretty stunning place
that deep level within

pathway to a beautiful life!

sometimes, all times
a mirror that keeps
looking back at you
knows there's no
hiding place, the depths
that will sure-ly rise to
the everest heights
the death valley daze
mixed with wine and roses
nights eating surf & turf
the street with it's constant
changing refrain, the fact
that every sunrise is a
surprise and if ya want
a chance to start all
over once again...............

the mirror
deeply influential

an intersection
of
time
deeply influential

a reflection
on
life
the mirror
reflecting
life

collecting and reflecting
images
of
what has been

collecting and reflecting
images
of
what is

spanning
the past
to
the present

an intersection
of time
deeply influential

reflecting
those ordinary days
those magical
ordinary days
constructed
using
the materials of
joy
fear
promise

deeply influential
of what
is next

allowing
those
who
reflect
when ready
to step
through
the
looking glass

into the future
in
a
magical cycle
of
constructing life
using
the materials of
joy
fear
promise

the mirror
tool of intersection
tool of reflection
tool of evolution
deeply influential

genetic determinism
not

introospection
self-introduced
i said to my step=son last week
"why donch call the lady back to see if ya got the job?"
an he said she'd call him if'n it was happenin
then I looked in the mirror saw me
hair messy unkempt and three days whiskers
an I had to say, welll,
I am one hellluva role model ain't I?

He's auditioning as base player with a soon to be formed new-generation metal jamk band,
my generativity,
givin him space to get it,
and I clipped my own hair now growing the beard back til next whenever
ebbed
stopped
qualmed
uncalm yet slow
but I do my nursing art with people
set up the walkie-talkies with the retro IV poles
with the little silver fenders on the wheels
so they can get up an go go go
when they want toooo
without wheelz squeaking and topheavy pumps toppling
on noooo won't doooo
they be smiling at me when they pass by on the promenade
I say "How do?"
Cancer unit performance art
constructions of people,
retro wheeled IV polez
and I leave, go home, and look into my mirror and ask, ohhhhh
mirror mirror on the wall
who's the most loco of them all
waiting for the day when the big fall comes
then I'll be back on the run
right on down highway 1A
and a break to the midwest
up over the high plains
gotta lighten my load.

ah yes through the looking glass
lookin back at choooze.
an am gratefull of it too.

Ahy yes
I asked the doc for the anti-coag treatment
to the lady's medi-port and he said, ok, wait til you get the port fixed first so she don't have to be poked any more4
for the labs and the lady said to us,
"I'd rather be poked than ported!"

stoopin bye to see
some friends play
Tommy T., Jaime Wilson
and tboys doin' an
acoustic Woody Guthrie
show at the Red Canoe
on Harford road....Tommy
also did his classic "Born To
Party" and CJ requested "Roadkill"
we all ended the show
singing "This Land is Your Land"
it was a good time, gee it's great
to be back home, even with the
dealers down on the street,
it's a kinda uneasy truce, you don't
call 911 and they won't firebomb your
house, ain't it pretty livin' in the city?????????

slow....slower than a
vw headin' into an
oklahoma wind
puzzling......more puzzlin'
than the one you had that
was missing pieces
wonder......the wonder of it
all when it comes to the
movement of jam as compared
to the jiggle of jelly
all kinds of perpetual:
motion
motif(e)
animation
(ly)funny
(ly)annoying
fun
I'll be a son of a gun
watching Courtney Love &
Kiefer Sutherland play William
Tell and wondering how??????
perpetual change
perpetual rearrange
perpetual?
