Re: perpetual jam!!!!!!!!!
have all the fun you can
at the show -
don't even want to get into the why's of it all
it's over now for the time being -
gonna be movin' looks like
sometime in december
story in that too but not now
anyways...a place quite east of us
name of Cherry Valley Yew Nork
540 some odd people
i mean rural
think I'm gonna like it
and even though i might have to
commute some miles i'm gonna be lookin'
for a job or two when we get there
hell hold on to what ya got as long as you can do it
because - heads up - my social security alone ain't paying the freight
did some googling on the town and
the area -
interesting tidbit i didn't know
article said that ginsberg bought
a farm near town & it's still there
and still owned by the family or the trust
something like that
said he was a resident for about ten years or so
from the mid 60's to the mid 70's
and the whole gang used to show up there
kerouac, corso, the whole crew i guess
i didn't know this - you ever hear of it?
there is a joint in town called the Coyote Cafe -
can ya see me serving coffee there?
or sweeping up after hours?
hell yeah, Mongolia!
land looks beautiful - heavy hill & valley country -
can't say for sure until i'm on
the ground there but it looks to be
some drop dead gorgeous biking ahead
it just looks quiet - slower paced
i think i'm ready for some of that
always wanted to get back in the hills
& it looks like that's where i'm headed
and there ain't anything to hold me here
where i'm at anymore

Re: perpetual jam!!!!!!!!!
how did the performance go?
hope ya had a hell of a time
another beaut of a day here
have had such a run of them
back to back packed nuts to butts
riding my ass off day and night
also starting to sort things out
for the move
looks like in december
not my favorite time but
still excited
it's something from the comfort of your own place
to be able to scope out territory somewhere else
and i mean scope it
electronic recon

heavenly horn
rattle....rattle....
friday
empty seats
all around
runaround all day
work, work, work
come back
rattle....rattle
eat and rest
wake at 2 am.
writing. bliss
free
a little stiff
no alot
ac humming
valerie back home
hear front door
whistle....squeak
clomp of steps
feel the silence
now
3:23 am.
trying to figure
out the unfigureable
time just moves
supposed to
words pour out
sticky
people call
some text
i try to comply
body aches
by sunday it
gets better
monday the
wear and tear
commences
comfy boots help
$200 ones
knee brace
stabalizes
compression socks
wrist brace
all in place
bass ale eases
the night
plans?
survival
steps always
climbings hard
ladders worst
yet
alive, alive, 000000
happy to be
always could
be worse
keep jammin
perpetually

Re: perpetual jam!!!!!!!!!
heading for Cherry Valley today
to check the lay of the place
the breathing of the terrain
the cut of its jib
hitting the road in the rain
two hours & a bit there
two hours & a bit back
me, the woman, & the hound
all packed in to the Cherokee
away team on the ground
some days ya just gotta
race like a piss horse
drag the line
and what's been let fall to the ground
you gotta lift it up
to check the lay of the place
the breathing of the terrain
the cut of its jib
hitting the road in the rain

Re: perpetual jam!!!!!!!!!
took a trip into the hills yesterday
Coyote cafe was closed
that village where Nancy will be working
is like an outpost back in those hills
jeremiah johnson I ain't
but wow
went down to cooperstown
and they was having some
field day celebration
whole town wrapped up in it
then on down the road to oneonta
main street was like entering a canyon
19th century buildings in either side
two colleges there
and the place was humming & hopping
even in the rain -
don't know what to say about it all
except it's gonna be different
folded & eroded country
Han Shan country
big hills & old mountains
with the bedrock bones of the land
showing thru
wisps of low rain cloud hanging down
old woman pushing her walker ahead of her
coming right down the center of the street
my brain like a covered wagon
gypsies ho!
play ball!
goalposts on the school field
ghost posts of old fences everywhere else
back during the Revolution a force of British Regulars
Tories & Iroquois showed up
and massacred about three quarters of everybody
carried off the rest
but those left alive after the war
came back
'cause they was jammers

Re: perpetual jam!!!!!!!!!
yeah it was that
but mostly different from what
i'm used to up here on Lake Ontario
got half a crap-ton of poems out of it
and they are still forming
place jolted me some
and worry wants to do a stompdance
on my brain -
yeah woodstock down the road
but up in cherry valley
there's an old woman pushing
her walker ahead of her in the rain
wearing an old woman's hat
right down the middle of the street
and the Coyote Cafe ain't big
a few tables out front
windows dark
and no sign on the door
posting their hours
that made me look on the place
with some grace
- i think the place
is on Indian time
