John Tytell ? sounds like a good read
I'll check it out - & thx
I have a growing realization
of all the names that have come down to us
men & women, of how dedicated they were
to the art - could haiku be a vehicle
for the expression of self -
- of the human condition -
under any and all circumstances -
a vehicle that not only distills the truth
from any given moment but holds it as well
any where
any time -
hell yeah Mongolia !
and hell yeah hang on because
without that we become just one more
no-name victim of despair & resignation
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

wiley tricksters
on the fringe
wandering the
outskirts of town
hybrid coyote/wolves
coming down from
northern latitudes
like the polar/grizzly bears
moon light prowlers
night stalkers
along with the phantom foxes
you rarely see in daytime
that fox where i lived in
virginia back in 1990
stuffed 13 chickens up a tree
trunk behind the pond
looked like a voodoo ceremony
had taken place back there
strange daze indeed......

fox ain't called fox for nothing
i've seen them in trees
mostly i just see their tracks
hard to catch them unawares
when i was a kid the farmer
up the road had a fox at his chickens
every night fox take a bird
farmer lays wait night after night
- no fox
farmer gives up
next night fox takes chicken
fox come back night after
farmer so mad
he shoots three of his chickens
trying to kill fox then throws
his shotgun in the creek ...

looking back on it now
i think it was a Viet Cong fox

need to be heard
jammin!
last night on a midnight ride
went down to the village
for some loops around
then headed out into the black
that's when the damnedest thing happened
lace from my sneaker got wrapped around
the bike crank -
drew my left foot tight to the pedal
i mean tight
couldn't move
couldn't reach it
couldn't get off the bike
couldn't unwrap it
son-of-a-mongolian-sheepherder -
talk about being one with your machine
if there's a time to be had
and a situation not covered by
any vid on youtube
i'll find it
