For Wireman

jesus h christ mark what the hell is going on
now this don't ryhme or make much sense just a note pad ramble with no spell checker and bill gates ain't drawing no squggly lines under my sentence fragments

just what i like to do best, watch the pixels dance, love the sound of tappy tap tap on my keyboard

got a beat I can dance to
keeps my heart beating
just a got dam ghost is all I am

full of self pity for what I have missed
a mad maudlin penitent that is trying to pull his ass out of his head

got no literary aspirations just grateful to be a part of this community

what are we doing here?
share a song a poem a painting a joke

people who know we are walking on an earth that is disapearing under our feet.

So I could google and tell you that the poles are on a cycle that shift every so many thousand years. I could google and tell you that something is going on with the "wobble" of the earth's axis. I could tell you that something is happening around the equator, a shift in the earth's crust. You posted pictures of heiroglyphics that looked like submarines and tanks and rockets and such. You wonder if we have been here before.

I could tell you about near misses of astroids. I could tell you about Katrina, I could tell you what a fragile hold life has on this planet.

I could tell that the end is near, and there is no sense sitting on the roof of your house waiting for the great white hope from outer space to rescue us.

Some try to read the signs, these are the end times, so what is their got dam hurry I wonder. When the messiah comes it will be like a thief in the night

and you are worried about the inner harbor? you are worried about the poles shifting. Lets go out and save the world. Where the hell is superman when you need him.

Come on mark lets just jam, jam, got dam jam, throw these words around like they mean something and it is a dam good joke when we lean on our own understanding, what is the point of meditation I wonder. To stop making sense. Our monkey brains so eager to connect dots. We cure small pox and then we think it would make a dam good weapon so we start breeding the germs again. The disease called man, one day we will be at the end of the movie and Peter fonda will say to Dennis Hopper "we blew it" Mother Teresa a saint goes marching in. What can we do. I know we all want to save the world, but what can we do about magnetic poles and planetary wobble, global warming yeah I don't drive much any more. as little as possible, I could recycle more. Breaks my heart to see those kid's shows where the children so concerned with saving endangered species, recycling, global warming, how many going to grow up to be neocons. Then there are the babies born in Darfur. Somebody must be fuking for those children to be born. Blows my mind in the middle of that genocide people are still screwing.

Sorry mark, you such a good guy concerned about the future

and all i care about is typing and trying to get laid again.
I used to be smart

1) Intro from "Nighthawks At The Diner":

"For all the bachelors out there tonight. Yeah, for anybody who’s ever whistled this song (plays the wedding march). Or maybe you’ve whistled it but you’ve lost the sheet music. Eh-heh-heh-heh. This is eh.... Well, actually, I don’t mind going to weddings or anything. As long as it’s not my own, I show up. But, eh... I’ve always kind of been partial to calling myself up on the phone and asking myself out. You know... (whoops from the audience). Oh yeah, you call yourself up too, huh? Yeah... Well, one thing about it, you’re always around! Yeah, I know. Yeah, you ask yourself out, you know. Some class joint somewhere. The Burrito King or something. You know... Well, I ain’t cheap, you know. Take yourself out for a couple of drinks maybe, you know. Then you’ll be... some provocative conversation on the way home. And park in front of the house, you know, and you... Oh yeah, you´re smooth with it... you know, you put a little nice music on. Maybe you put on like... you know... like shopping music, something that’s not too interruptive, you know. And then, you know, and eh... slide over real nice, you know, say, ’Oh, I think you have something in your eye’. Eh-heh-heh. Well, maybe it’s not that romantic with you, but Christ, I... you know! It ain’t... you know... Take myself up to the porch, and take myself inside. Oh, maybe... I make a little something, a brandy snifter or something. Would you like to listen to some of my back records. I got something here... Well, usually about 2.30 in the morning you’ve ended up taking advantage of yourself and... there ain’t no way around that, you know. Yeah, making the scene with a magazine, there ain’t no way around... I’ll confess, you know, I’m no different, you know. I’m not weird about it or anything. I don’t tie myself up first, I just... you know. I just kind of... spend a little time with myself. So this is kind of a little anthem here..." Better Off Without A Wife(1)
All my friends are married
Every Tom and Dick and Harry(2)
You must be strong if you’re to go it alone
Here’s to the bachelors and the Bowery(3) bums(4)
Those who feel that they’re the ones
That are better off without a wife
Cause I like to sleep until the crack of noon
Midnight howlin’ at the moon
Goin’ out when I want to,
And I’m comin’ home when I please
Don’t have to ask permission
If I wanna go out fishin’
Never have to ask for the keys
I’ve never been no Valentino(5)
But I had a girl who lived in Reno(6)
Left me for a trumpet player
Well, it didn’t get me down
He was wanted for assault
And though he said it weren’t his fault
You know the coppers(7) rode him right out of town(
I’ll be sleeping until the crack of noon
Midnight howlin’ at the moon
And I’ll be goin’ out when I want to
Comin’ home when I please
Don’t have to ask permission
If I wanna go out fishin’
Never have to ask for the keys
Yeah, you see I’m kinda selfish about my privacy
Now as long as I can be with me
We get along so well I can’t even believe it
I love to chew the fat(9) with folks
I’ll be listening to all your dirty jokes
I’m so thankful for these friends I do receive
I’ll be sleeping until the crack of noon
Midnight howlin’ at the moon
And I’ll be goin’ out when I want to
Comin’ home when I please
Don’t have to ask permission
If I wanna go out fishin’
Never have to ask for the keys, no
Hey, I got this girl I know, man, and I just...
She’s been married several times and...
I don’t wanna end up like her.
I mean, she’s been married so many times
she’s got rice-marks all over her face.
Yeah, you know the kind...

I got so many married friends I don't know what the song means, but even jitterbug who has the happiest marriage I have ever seen just don't always follow me. Some of us are just singletons. No disrespect intended for any of my married friends. I know why jitterbug made an honest woman out his wife. Small rural community she would have be shunned by those old hillbilly women. The ones she needed for support, the big city california girl that she was. I mean we are talking farm wife, a million things she needed to know, canning, gardening, cooking. She out of a university enviorment smartest woman I know. Such a quiet love my brother has. I have never heard a cross word between them in thirty years.

I Got to edit and I don't know where

Somewhere there was a jam, I was just reading a long and hanging on your every word,
then you posted a Poem by Robert Service about lost wives and bussinesses, and up to that point i was taking it all personal,
every one of your words were hitting home,
an i felt just like you were talking to me
but of course you were not,
I wasn't even there just a ghost reader,
you were going with the jam flow posting to someone's elses words not mine.
I was busy just trying to enjoy the jam.
If you was talking to me you probably have posted a different poem.

The Men that Don't Fit In
by: Robert W. Service

There's A race of men that don't fit in,
A race that can't stay still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin,
And they roam the world at will.
They range the field and they rove the flood,
And they climb the mountain's crest;
Theirs is the curse of the gypsy blood,
And they don't know how to rest.

If they just went straight they might go far,
They are strong and brave and true;
But they're always tired of the things that are,
And they want the strange and new.
They say: "Could I find my proper groove,
What a deep mark I would make!"
So they chop and change, and each fresh move
Is only a fresh mistake.

And each forgets, as he strips and runs
With a brilliant, fitful pace,
It's the steady, quiet, plodding ones
Who win in the lifelong race.
And each forgets that his youth has fled,
Forgets that his prime is past,
Till he stands one day, with a hope that's dead,
In the glare of the truth at last.

He has failed, he has failed; he has missed his chance;
He has just done things by half.
Life's been a jolly good joke on him,
And now is the time to laugh.
Ha, ha! He is one of the Legion Lost;
He was never meant to win;
He's a rolling stone, and it's bred in the bone;
He's a man who won't fit in.

With Out A Song Sonny Rollins
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... Id=4836044

Listening this and I got the chills
Which is pretty amazing cause I am clueless to music
You can hear the title song if you click on the listen button under his picture. This is the concert he gave in Boston four days after 9/11.

If the poles shift, the earth wobbles out of orbit, if planet X hits us, if the the bombs fall, if if if if if
if we are alone, there is no place else
if souls are not reborn
if there is no redemption
if I die tonight
if there were no music
if if if it was far worse than we can imagine
if the sea rises
if six were nine
if if if if if
Could I we survive with out a song.
(Yeah, sing a song bro'...)
If the sun refused to shine
I don't mind, I don't mind
(Yeah)
If the mountains ah, fell in the sea
Let it be, it ain't me.
(Well, all right)
 :o :?

I suppose I just ain't on nobodies wave length if I ain't on yours, you have kicked me so many times when I was down. Just trying to return the favor
Could this be the end of the perpetual jam :?: :(

the jam's perpetual
sticky it'll find it's level
rise and fall
come and go
things are rough now
maybe they'll become
more confusing
perhaps i'll be gone for
a couple weeks....couple daze
i hang positive knowing that
as a writer it's all fodder
i roll in it...it's what pushes
my creative buttons
the anguish....the pain.....
the wondering where i'll be
from day to day
i'm healthy right now
and that's enough
after the past couple of months
of confusion and ill health
through it all i'll jam
and stay a positive man....perpetually
submit................................

Where was I between thoughts
?
ripped off from mnaz
between our fears?

I never saw the good side of a city
and these are the times that try men's souls
but I never waste a minute thingking about the way things might have been
if only.
sparks fly when jump the plus and minus
smell that ozone burning
I don't know my jaming man
I felt pretty rotten if i got you down
more, should I have said, cheer up
things could be worse
but then I start imagining the worse
too many run a way minds posting on the internet
bad science, bad logic, fear mongers, hate mongers and people who just love to lie.
If I was to propose a theory it would be about love, life, beauty, the good felling that comes after a job well done,
cause
nothing we do here is important
it is only improtant that we do it
jam

I hope you feel well again soon, it drags you down I know.
I am sorry for being insensitive
Maybe we can't always be positive but we can be fearless about what is out of our hands.
between our fearful thoughts we got to learn to laugh at these monkey brains of ours
cause remember that God made the monkey because he was disapointed with man

thanks Mark, take care of your self
going to take a lot of time to perputuate this jam
where is the flower woman?
I hardly see her haiku
I know things are bad over there
but they are bad here too.

calm before the storm
what is waiting up ahead of me
living in a fools paradise
health issues galore
i am my own ship of fools
full steam ahead to a fate worth than death
fall has not begun in south texas
it is still summer and the living still easy
but i picked the last tomatoes and the plants are turning brown
so i know hard times are coming
maybe
looking through litkicks at the man I was
looking at these words and the man I am now
A wonder you still talk to me
after all the inane things I have said.

take care mark

square one
yes
a new man
a rebirth
for years i lived in square one turned it into a prison
now the walls have come tumbling down
I am still at square one
but now I can see the whole board
pushing a pawn to the other side
playing the whole board

i got to tell you mark
when I see wireman
it is always WOW
i should not lean on you
cause I know you got your own
to deal with
but I do
makes my morning today
at 6:30 am it was 72 degrees and about 98 % humidity
what I would not give to feel a little nip of fall
a hint of a coming frost
the smell of burning leaves in the wind

another month to go until we get our fall
how's the weather in charm city
don't burry my heart at wounded knee/

I know I need a small vacation
But it don't look like rain
That is one of the things I loved about working outdoors
Those sweet unexpected vacations

enjoy

Cigarettes as Kurt Vonnegut said are an American way of suicide. I see myself dieing a bad death on a hospital ward with Old Gary looking down on me with a compassionate smile saying, "Jackie what did you expect?" A bad old man, in his seventies now, so much younger than me. I love this poem by him.

Why Log Truck Drivers Rise
Earlier Than Students Of Zen

In the high seat, before-dawn dark,
Polished hubs gleam
And the shiny diesel stack
Warms and flutters
Up the Tyler Road grade
To the logging on Poorman creek.
Thirty miles of dust.

There is no other life.

Was Zorba smiling at you after digesting so much Zen?

Waterman on the eastern shore, skip jacks the last fleet of working sail boats in the US. Love the eastern shure. I would love to explore all those little towns and islands. So isolated from the world. But my memories are so old. Probably images of the gone world.

Rita on its way, but the weather has not changed yet. Today the first day of fall every where but here.
