Brunch time
Had a little bit of snow
yesterday but it didn't stick
to the roads

first snow!
4 am
the dog sits upright
as flashing lights
and a sonorous rumbling
from the road
announce the snowplows
doing their thing
back to sleep...
...until 6
poke my head outside
five, maybe six inches
the tops of the pines
glowing
in the day's first golden light
the very air seems new
the way it always does
when winter finally arrives
I welcome the change...
but the dog beside me
doesn't seem as sure
that he really wants out after all...

nice days for doing mental wood fires
& to see how agendas, classic shouts & no-east winds run
after two days of more than 30ºC
I´m ready to get out of summer
(subtropical each year fit less with my humor)
