losing my amazing tenant
back to square one trying to interview
the perfect lessee...great guy
really hate to see him go, but I always know
every time i rent it out...this...is temporary
just happened to get attached to this quality individual
one of those stellar humans that give you hope for our planet
and we will always be friends,
he just won't be upstairs on the second floor
so now to the screening process, the checks and balances
paperwork and sprucing up...spread the word
best landlord in Baltimore lives downstairs
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Han Shan comes to Wireman's jam -

"Thirty years in this world

I wandered ten thousand miles,

By rivers, buried deep in grass,

In borderlands, where red dust flies.

Tasted drugs, still not Immortal,

Read books, wrote histories.

Now I’m back at Cold Mountain,

Head in the stream, cleanse my ears."

He's always a go to
Bugs in a bowl, we are😎
William Dalrymplethe travel
Writer a favorite of mine
Recently, India, the Middle East
Byzantium, both current & ancient
Looking for the inspire
Deep down inside
It was all so easy once once upon a time
Perhaps it's the environment
I'm living in now?
Cool rain beating
Down outside
My chamber windows
Temps will rise then fall
once more
11 degrees is better than -11
The barbers have finally
gone home downstairs
All is silent except for
the pitter-patter of rain
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

woke up to snow
and wind & cold
damnajama
got the dog out for a walk
yesterday when still 50 degrees
he found a deer leg in snow
and hoofed that sucker
all the way home
small dog with
a lot of heart
it's certain that surroundings have
something to do with what we write
to hit the road
in pursuit of poems is romantic
and flavors what we produce
and not moving at all does the same
I go off on the bike hunting 'ku
up & down these back roads up here
but also sit here in winter
and ride the 'net and
get stuff too
I prefer being out & about
but that's just
the romantic in me

Romance of the ride
Gliding..........
A bit of poesy before
From the back of the mind
Deep down, cerebral shit
Reaching way back
Grasping thoughts that are hatching
Each day a bit better
I had to think now,
"What day is it?"
Of course it's Saturday
I'm sitting at jojo's getting ready for brunch😎

Continuing:
Oh the dooterrodomy of it all
Whether it tis nobler
to walk thru the streets of an
abandoned oasis
Or die at the point of a
flaming spear
This is turning into one helluva game
The colds coming thru the door
A bomb towards the end of the fray
Six foot thick walls could never
keep em out
Siege engines wearing at them again and again
The bar emptied out somewhat
Was that an adverb at the
tail end of a sentence?
Writing rules were made to be broken
Jamming
No rules
No holds barred
It's an amazing game
Back and forth
Lost in the confuse
Does it really matter?
Getting it down
All that really matters
As the sun goes down
Under my armour what
really lies within?
The towels unraveling
The contest continues
Back and forth
May you stay forever young.....😎

no rules
only arbitrary mandates
from self-styled "experts"
this is the sort of nonsense
up with which we shall not put...
to go boldly
where no one has gone before
(or is that boldly to go
where no one has gone before...)
check out language log
search for prescriptivist popycock
it made a believer out of me
yep
i'm a reformed prescriptivist
i done seen the light
convinced me that
if someone says there's a rule against that...
there probably isn't
so jam the good jam
just keep it real
and true

been doing a little autodidacting myself
(is that redundant?)
when it's too cold
too wet or
just too blah to play outside...
dug out my old calculus text
Thomas, ed. 4
learned L'Hopital's rule
for finding limits
of indeterminate forms...
method of partial fractions
for integrating rational functions...
synthetic division
(still struggling with that one)
u=tan(theta/2) for trig integrals
all that cool stuff
from the last chapters of the book
we never got to...
dog thinks I'm crazy
maybe you do too
and who knows...
maybe I am....
or maybe one man's toil
is another's fun.......

Dad was a weatherman
We played a lot of golf
when I was young
Up till I was 40 or there abouts

another 6" of powder
gleam in the morning sun
something about that light - golden, clean
its warmth belying the stinging air
hemlocks demurely draped in white
their fronds hanging low
like old-fashioned ruffled skirts
dog buries his face in it
inhaling the essence of rabbits
deer
maybe coyote
too intent even
to beg for a treat
