deepest desert streamin
quiet on the western front
drum beats takin a break
waitin for the crowd to grow
a long line of people crouchin out back
breathin the sweet still of night.
don't look now raga mark
but there's a hungry dawn about to break

i been jammin'
with my eyes, jammin' with
what i see, what tries i have had,
the good, the bad, the ugly scenes,
dreams of pastimes and inbetweens,
difficulty prisms, ridiculous arrhythmias,
off-beat heart syncopations,
conga congo determinations,
jammin' with the future of vision,
jammin' with a sight far past a division,
jammin' with want and honor and voice,

i been jammin' with a choice
to continue to
something new,
true to myself,
something newer
than yesterday's coping....

jammin' with an opening

come on in

such sweet hauntings
the presence of everyone I have ever loved
and who loved me

I lost my way in the middle of my journey
but at the ending I have found the way again
I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

saw the movie
Fear Strikes Out

haunted by such sweet memories of childhood
listening to the old minor league orioles on a green bakelite radio
I can still hear the sound of the crowd and the crack of the bat on
summer nights

then Nancy Pelosi's father
"Old Tommy"
brought the old St Louis Browns to baltimore
I think she is a chip off the old block
Nancy is the pride of baltimore I think
I used to walk by her house in little Itlee on my way to school

and I don't loose no sleep over childhood nightmares
no more.
