Lew Welch Richard Brautigan
get their poetry confused in my head
but not their deaths

I got to get back to work
been convalescing too long probably
greedy with my time
time is money I been told
and all my money can't buy me love

Strange how many ways the country is pulled
our land of the home sweet home and the brave
I need to get my hair pulled cause pissing straight don't do no good with the D.O.T.

yes going to get back to the struggle for the legal tender, tender as a three dollar sirloin

what am I saying
this god damn studio eight diet is making me crazy

legal lies pot and keep the unemployed unemployed
smells like bread and circuses

I want to make a wilderness from an Empire
after us the savage god
slouching towards washington d.c.

This is the age of megadata
and asymmetric information
fuck you kid I got mine to look after
I need those off shore bank accounts
Cause the first thing H*tler did was confiscate the guns
but the money was good
for a while

Code: Select all

“It seems as though the Germans had chosen madmen, men who quite simply went mad, and consecrated them, raised men like Nietzsche and Holderlin to the level of prophets, heroes, saints, and wise men, and made idols of them,” he wrote in 1943. . . .

Like T.S. Eliot and C.S. Lewis across the English Channel, and Jacques Maritain in America, Haecker hoped and prayed for German defeat during those terrible years 1939-1945, and, also like Eliot, Lewis, and Maritain, he believed the profound modern confusion—“ the dismemberment and disintegration of the modern person” (1942 entry)—had epistemological, philosophical roots.
pardon my bummer
gimme a beat boys to free my soul
I been reading too much C.S. Lewis

day for slammin' mud on walls
sometimes a weather front
takes its own sweet time to pass
a man has to rattle his cage from time to time
just to hear the shake
and know he's alive
rain keeping me from too much road
so i'll slam some mud
& hope the light
at the end of the trail
ain't artificial
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

got caught
on my bike
on the road
by the rain -
first time ...
been dodging that bullet
ever since last year
and there i was
full of bravado
& lulled by success
looking at the sky
& telling myself
- i got time to make it -
which has always proved out true
until it didn't
yeah yeah yeah
bravado, success, & me
soaking wet two miles from home
you can't appreciate the length of a mile
unless you are on a bike
in the rain
with water shooting off the rear tire
and heading straight for your back
truth is a strange thing
and always willing to give you
a free education & a free reality check
to your sense
of humor
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Invent
Then reinvent
Constant
A must
The reach out
Be it cyber
Or not
Is strong
The words
Deep
The flow
Meanders
We pick the flowers
Mine the gems
Oh the golden moments
The hunger for word, word, word......

Bounding down the page
Jam
Off to the races
Dinner with the one I truly love
These days
I can hardly remember.....

It was a bleak November
High upon a hill
Beautiful spot for free spirits
to go.....to die....

Carry on
Carrion
Machu pichu
La Mancha
Sancho panza
Donkeys & stallions
Scullions n crap shooters
Shit talkin' swindlers
Dirty, dirty on u
Twice as nice on me
Land of o say can't u see???
Unfolding drama
Never ending JAM!!!

the days are for bike riding
the late afternoons
for cleaning house
and making dinner
i been digging on this photo
a man & his makings
letting it work its way in
what was once said of the telegraph
"messages from invisible sources"
applies just as tight to the internet -
think i'll put on my sandals
& go for a ride -
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Alone in his work
************************
World outside
Passing by
In sync with flow
We are revolving
Constantly
Feeling the move
Watching sun over
my shoulder
I've shook
I've shuddered
Felt the chill
Taken lots a pills
Threw the boomerang
Learned to start all over
again & again
