some mornings are rife with confusion
these days when waking up doesn't mean
merely getting out of bed
on these mornings we must wait until
all the gears mesh in some semblance of order
and so we muddled about with little tasks
that don'r require problem solving or dexterity
until the fog lifts and blows out to sea
and the gulls flying inside the head get bored
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

some mornings are just like that
when the full bladder
takes forever to empty...
when oral hygiene is
floss a tooth and gag,
floss another and gag...
when the coffee isn't just a pleasant beverage
but a jolt of dry gas right down the carbeurator...
and your glasses aren't where
you usually leave them
but are hiding on the top shelf
of the bookcase because,
oh yeah,
the phone rang last night
while you were looking through that old Fortran manual
for a bit of code you wanted to steal,
and you set them down to answer it...
the engine smooths out eventually
but runs pretty rough until it does
and in the meantime
coughs out a lot of smoke

hmmm, I think therefore I am
some French dude quipped after a long night of Absinthe
and debauchery,
everyone gets their opinion of how to phrase such things
but the reader also gets to form their own ideas
does foggy in the morning mean ...slow down
does it mean, No moving On...until you learn this thing you ignore
don't know...it's all just interesting and so
I'm glad that things are still interesting
and there are some other nutty poets like me
that like to come to Studio Eight
it's become a rather closed shop for the most part
so I'm pleased that all the "members" have something to offer
beyond the goddamned news
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

beyond the goddamned news
is a world of Franz Marc's blue horses
I once wrote a poem about the music in color
or visa versa ....about the yin in green
and the yang of a symphony
I still try to light up a room in a non egotistical way
with love and conversation
i still try to carry my share of the load
as I dance on my tip toes
all you can do is care
all you can do is never hurt
all you can do is sing with no one around
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

i am only a ripple come twogether.

only we can change the narrative of our own lives.
re-telling ourselves how we feel.

and understanding why.

If truck drivers have to take piss tests, why not writers?
wrecklessforty-ton words hurtling down the information highway
the author drunk and or stoned
there ought to be a law

maybe another amendment to the constitution protecting integrity and dignity
Order and chaos, is it ever either or?
or is it what it is?
the war between the sexes
it keeps me interested
in keeping on

li have heard that the truth hurts
it sure caused Nietzsche sleepless nights

Yesterday's school - I managed to meet a grade 7 Science class - nervous and jittery about corona. We managed to do 2 meditations including building a shield of energy around ourselves. The teacher was grateful.
I met a Special Ed 8th grade class - the kids were peacefully lounging on the bean bag chairs while the teacher and I did qigong.
I met a 7th grade class and showed them my Class Relax site to offer them a way to relax if they needed it (who knew that schools would be closed from today until after Passover break).
I met a group of 8th graders who chose Mindfulness as their optional course - 25 minute guided meditation, scanning body, building an energy shield, waking up feeling energized, and then some concluding qigong exercises. I got their numbers to add them to a whatsapp group, through which I offer meditations.
I acted the best I could, I was grateful for the chance to meet them, and now, that's it for in person mindfulness lessons.
Today, I have two sessions on the kibbutz. Two opportunities to offer techniques to stop thoughts and center on the body and breathing.
This day of dust storms and rain and who knows what else, I get a chance to navigate corona seas and fallen tree branches. Every day an adventure.

yes judih, thanx for outlining the opposite side of all this...how do we stay, calm, healthy and sane as we get further into this whole mess...I like the notion of creating barriers against the creeping bugs.....the woods will be my sanctuary....may everyone stay well...no need to panic....take some precautions, sure especially since many of us are in the age demographic that is the riskiest.....but we will all get through this ...create your own bubble......best wishes

all i can say is this is a self-inflicted ill, perpetuated by humanity upon itself.

Image

the news needs to manufacture the hysteria to sell their product; mixed with the disinformation upon every social platform.
in the Zucker-nothing-burger age.

H.A.L - (so named after I.B.M) finally opened the trap doors.

i feel sorry for the corona beer people, the bottom falling out of their business.

i have a deep empathy for innocent human suffering. especially living in a country with a probable rate of 40% hiv+ and a similar rate suffering from tuberculosis.
obviously hugely high risk, and when the virus takes hold in the poorer areas, non containable contagion is an inevitable wild fire.
after dragging and watching more than 50% of my staff slowly die through a.i.d.s. and latterly hiv+ during recent history - to fall into this is tough.

the rich will be okay. mainly.

so much for the Black Death following the exact path along the old silk road - wuhan to florence.
now a direct concrete super highway with no hurdles.

how do you contain human movement and transmission with this new world fact:

just love & peace to all.
