mind full of thoughts
& vague awareness
of my masks

the man behind the mask
the intention behind the intentions
the child behind the man
the writer behind the words
Kerouac the jazzman how I wish i could write like that
I love to read the words that dance
don't mean a thing if it ain't got the swing
I just plod along
but dam it's fun to try

let me riff like wireman
up on the stage of life with a microphone
and something to say
i miss the Mark he made
oh exalted jammer extraordinaire
oh colleague artist with passionate eyes
I hope you are ok
I hope you have found some peace
and the jam lives on inside your head
be well
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

riff like that
wireman and jack,
ham and bacon sausage and eggs, hash browns and toast
breakfast at tiffany's
life like it is a gift
jack is just this writer, that wound up some old fat guy sitting on a couch watching nixon speaches on tv with his mother
but mark is my real deal hero of action poetry, I am following his foot steps to extinction on studio eitght where the elephants go to die.

going down rocking and jamming just like my homeboy hero wireman mark
this is going on in his head inside my head inside every head in this thread, I don't worry about where he is at all, I know he is in good hands, because time loves heroes and karma dharma is payback to a good life lived

wireman loved kerouac
that is why he is/was twice the man I am
he did not judge the man
he appreciated the work
I think Nietzsche was right, the writer is the manure that fertilizes the writing.

Jan Kerouac called her father "the old drunk" later she made her peace with him, but I am a old fool that remembers things like that.
I am almost twice as old as he was when he died and I think maybe if I live another ten years I might write one damn thing that is as good his work.
Redemption :!:
someone told me that redemption is a given
must have been a chica
women are such optimists
I think it was~k

(...he was held fast to the book by the strength of his belief that "When this book is finished, which is going to be the sum and substance and crap of everything I've been through throughout this whole gotdam life, I shall be redeemed.")
Kerouac a biography by Ann Charters

who knows what controls the mind
triggers all over the place
ready for discovery
am i brave enough to dig in -
each day different degrees of heroism
today, not so much
this moment, one foot in front of the other
mask in back pocket
music on pause

wireman started the perpetual jam
many long years ago when the world was slightly safer
but of course that is relative to your means of measurement
a yardstick will not do, this is that new math
you heard about when you were singing other songs
when you were dancing before the twerk
when bobby dylan had a keen eye for injustice
though he still maintains he wasn't political.....wtf
where are the pete seegers seekin justice thru a banjo
where are the weavers of whose side are you on ?
where is the labor movement, when did history turn new phrases
it can't be only memes, can it ?......really..... gifs ?
where is the meat, when did literacy end and spectacle triumph
I'm not nostalgic, I'm dismayed.....how did so few wrest away all the wealth
and when did they become okay with suffering masses
and how come the masses at St. Dominic's never help
maybe I'm just a ranting old fool with too much time to think
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

o man for a jam
a good Goddamn
not determined by circumstances
or passing clouds who do not teach
or cannot reach the supper table
or put brakes on age
or icing on cake
o man for a jam
right out of the moment
into eternity
painting cave walls
walking strange halls
what's that?
do I hear a train?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWGc8JAWWj0

stay with me, Baby
no matter the rain
go on to the crossing
I'll be there
and roll on
roll on
roll on
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
