thx the pic on the cigar boxes -
had to google some on Blind Willie
not keenly aware on fine points of music
there ain't much to be had
info is thin -
from what i can see
think it's a wonder that
we know anything about him at all
making homemade mac & cheese here
gonna be a bit of a feast here in the lodge tonight
fresh made bread to top it all off
i'll be laying around moaning
when the feast is done

An unlikely pair
Full of soul
Soul of man/woman

What to do but write
Jam right
Jam left
Jam time
Jam a jam
Jam St. Jack
Jam ST
Jam mingo
Jammin on the 3's
Just watched a video
Interview with marcel Duchamp
BBC back in '68
Talkin bout the power of the 3
3 enuff
3 jammers
Make it flow
It's a wonder they don't see
The others I mean
Frees ya up as a writer
Spontaneous
In the momento
In an instant
Given in to the jam
Given in to the flow
Haiku solid 2
Sometimes I feel like I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
It ain't 3 though
They got old Basho
But I'm more of a ryokan man
Ikkyu the crazy cloud
Sengai
Sakaki
Love his crazy wisdom
Gary
Lew
Gregory

Sweet Lenore
All along the lee shore
Let me not forget old Robert hunter
Dire wolf truckin man
Got my chips stashed in
Ready for the sink or swim
Gonna go see my little darling at nine
But I'm gonna stick with the vodka
To hell with that wine
Jam on me!!!

it breathes
it flows
every man knows
how it goes
this moving thing
blind willie has left the solar system
god save the queen
snowflakes made in a cloud's womb
past present future
all of them like driftwood
like ryokan with his legs sticking out
just as he pleased
the water dripping between the walls
i can hear it this evening
one drop after another as it falls
it is like a music
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

On Sowebo festival site

Lotsa art
Old friends
Times past
Fading fast
Nice memories
Some gone for good
The people
We all will be
Facts of life
But we got now

companions all
some of them gone now
it's one of the perks
for people our age
our take
our cut
our wages ...
for loving what we could not help but love
that love we had for them
while they lived
is ours to carry to our own moment
now that they are gone
and carry it we will
because that's the deal
that's the jam
& it's what we do

spark a jam
spark a jam
set the nation on fire
catch some motion
stick a finger in the soup out there
i got no business putting it down
but it's this little insatiable thing -
children of moonshot mothers
grown old & heading for a place
we won't be coming back from
and yet the words come
like a sewing machine -
father liked to ride motorcycles
& i found my own way & called it
wilderness
the tracks i left behind me
looked just like crow prints -
i been with women what treated me well
god bless 'em god bless 'em spark-a-jam
been with women treated me as trash
god bless 'em god bless 'em spark-a-jam
someday i'll be outta words
& i won't know then
who leaves who behind
'til then looks like i'll be scratchin'
the itches i got all over
copy & push the submit button
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

"the only meaning the world has, is how it unfolds for me" Kerouac quoted from geezer memory

It's all about me
still growing up at seventy three
and breaking free
cut me loose let me fly
I am still alive

grown old & heading for a place
we won't be coming back from

speaking of growing up
"I feel that I am equal to each grass blade and pebble and believe it is possible to be happy though human and grow up." Paul Reps

interesting
Thanks to the sixties, Kerouac’s novel, which was published in 1957, has become a cliché, but the damage it caused should not be underestimated. On the Road has inspired countless young men to make excess and self-fulfillment their cardinal virtues and thus to remain mired in their immaturity. It has also prevented many young writers from advancing beyond the aesthetic stage of pouring their hearts out in confessional dribble.

not coming back?
I don't know
I just don't know
I am not counting on it
but who knows
suppose we are
and we got to keep on coming back
till everything is done
as if we are the crown of creation

Whoo-ee, whoo-ee baby
Won't you let me take you on a sea cruise?

I had a dream about a baby once
maybe maturity is just bitter disapointment
oh well
eat drink and be merry cause tomorrow you could be in Salt Lake City

speaking of babies and reincarnation
I read something the other day about a guy looking at a baby and thinking "it's rebooting itself"

amor fati
that's the trick
but what did crazy old Nietzsche know
poor old crazy bastard
with his whip hand over women
handy human hands
the hand that rocks the cradle
the hand that pulls the trigger
or the invisible hand of the market place
hands across the water

'drinking a bowl of green tea I stop the war.' paul reps

If I got to come back I hope I will have more respect for woman next time
it would serve me right if I had to come back as a woman
just to straigten out my weird karma with them
I only ever loved seven of them and they were all beautiful and kind

but I was a clinger
a Klingon
mama your boy is here far across the void

done rambling jamming or what eve r this has been
hope made some sense nonsense

maybe
['Maturity is a bitter disappointment for which no remedy exists, unless laughter could be said to remedy anything.'The Book of Bokonan
thinking about old kurt Vonnegut at eighty three
with his five ex wives and Pall Mall in hoch signo vinces

how did that Haiku by Hirahito? Go
May those that come after us never have to walk such paths of love?

Wouldn't say it was cold
Damn sure wasn't hot
The building creaked
It was over flowing
The birds had taken over
We were gone so long
Guano everywhere
They remained throughout
the day, mockingly
Some kind of Hitchcockian reverie
I think they've found a place to stay
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

maybe they were there
for confession -
maybe the creaking building
sounded like a song to them
or they came for the Hitchcock
maybe they had a copy of
Crow with no Mouth to pass between them
taking turns reading Ikkyu's poems to each other
when no one was around

This job has been
One was still wriggling
slowly before lunch
Buzzzzzzznnnnnn
Birds n bees
Wha?
What a day
Down to shirt sleeves
Blue skies
Exquisite
Jam on me!

eighty-four degress
here in san Antonio
and I am getting ready to head north 1500 miles into winter

still crazy
been ten years since I been on the road
I think I need to roll
I need that illusion of freedom
the road still owns me
I miss that feeling of leaving my life behind
I need the emotion of the motion
I am stuck in the stasis of the oasis

I need to find them mountains and
a dark night full of stars
life is hard in this light polluted flatland

who am I shittin
I got everything I need
my dearest friends are total strangers
I call them heroes they call me lonely
I wish them wisdom and self destruction
the believer
