discussion group this morning
old lefties still trying to make sense
I won't wear green or a goofy hat
maybe a bandanna and Levis but
doesn't much matter 'cause no one cares
the coffee , fruit and pastries will be ready
and men and women will sit around
in Pat and Ellyn's living room talking
laughing, sharing a saturday morning
been doing it so long can't remember
when it all started....probably the big bang
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Board index page is
off a day on the jam ( at least on my iPad)

Having to log in each time too?
Even when I say "log me in automatically"

Jammin' @ JoJo's
Beatific Sunday
People laughing in the back
Hearing from the bartender
about the brawls last night
At Nola (x2)

Wonder how that happened. Glad it’s fixed. How did you fix it? Cleared your cache?

jammin' into the new week
that makes 3,659 weeks under my belt
jammin high and low fast and slow
lotsa mondays and all the rest
plantiing my annual purple pansies
in the planter box on the front porch
spring cleaning for tomorrow, first day...new season
a rare day in Baltimore at home, most
up the road with dad, so i will enjoy every minute
won't much matter what I do, there's no place like home
If you do not change your direction

dear winter
isn't it time for you to leave?
and take with you
the five-foot snowbanks
the ice daggers on the eaves
threatening me
like damocles' sword
the single-digit temps
the heaves & potholes
the bi-weekly blizzards...
?
really
don't you think you've had your way
long enough?
because we do...

spring so fleeting here
like the flip of a switch from winter to summer
with a weeks of spring
question is what am I doing sitting here watching Jackie Robinson on PBS and writing this.

a day to be outside on my bike
god damn inertia I need momentum
I gotta ride or die
away away from this keyboard
bring on my handlebars

heading up to forest hill
clean the ramps and deck of snow
so dad's wheelchair can roll
and we will rock our way to the doc
across mountain road, down the expressway
into the white marsh
going down to rosedale
take my rider by my side
going down to rosedale
take my rider by my side
you can still barrel-house, baby, on the riverside
willie brown is long gone
but me and dad gonna fly
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I backed up more miles than Dean drove forward
From the shakey side to the dirty side in two days
and I was high on the real thing
a clean windshield
number 2 diesel
and rock and roll

the first day was no problem
last 12 hours of the second day
was hell on wheels with truckers nightmares
I was dreaming I was driving a truck and god damn it I wasn't
Last couple hours from the Deleware Water Gap to Hunt's Point
I was playing this song over and over because I needed to be there in the dawn's early light
hanging onto consciousness with all might listening to the music to stay semi-conscious :D
Don't the sunrise look so pretty - never such a sight
Like rollin' into New York City with the skyline in the morning light
Roll right through the night (roll)
Roll right through the night (I said, roll)
Don't the sunrise look so pretty - never such a sight
Like rollin' into New York City with the skyline in the morning light
Roll right through the night (roll)
Roll right through the night (I said, roll)
roll on roll on a scroll on
jam on

jam on, jam on,
jam away my friends,
jam these winter blues away -
the sun is coming home again
each day loosening
winter's icy vampiric grip
from our throats...
open water on the lake this morning
patches of mud showing through the hardpack
bare pavement most of the way
icicles that yesterday hung from eaves
now stick out of the snowbanks
like teeth
punched out of winter's mouth
next week:
more sun, temps in the 50s...
so jam jam jam
jam these winter blues up winter's ass
with a great big jambone...
