Yes you may create whatever is pleasing
That the colors the light
So it is that kind of breathing
The air is flowing in
And relaxing the places held in soundless space

Oh how that peaceful feeling crosses our face
The hillsides are planted with fruit trees
Like paintings written into books
About revolution and banana plantations
Sometimes the way history breezes
Women in the porches of Brazil’s heart
Doing needlepoint a lost art
The grandfather of Santiago left us
A gun in his mouth
His granddaughter became a writer
Isabelle Allende- this actress pia insists
I see where one of my favorite writers grandfather shot himself in the mouth

Inspired by the story teller
Yes every feather
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

life is fickle
as it is in the taking
as knowing
changes upon circumstance
who knows?
not I
There is no empty space

The poverty in society here drowning in conversation
The words flow in Spanish of everything in kindness
The housekeeper came and walked the dogs
Watching intensity build from within the car
Riding from the coast of Chile to the Andes
To the sounds of hot tubs and healing massages
The moon came up and seemed like candy
So many bottles of wine in every bar
In the places where everyone is yearning
The pain and memories still churning
The life she led on the reservation
Made all of this seem like a vacation
Really the best place to watch the stars
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

she believes she is the queen
of her reality
flabbergasted that everyone cannot see it
therein lies much consternation
and so for us
that must travel in the same orbit
we must learn to set limits
define our boundaries
and find our jamming joy
and it can be done once you see madness
as an empress with no clothes
one can steer and navigate
as to avoid the rocks....No one
is allowed to steal your jam
they may think so, they may think
all kinds of shit....let em'
dive into your happiness. springboard
into the deep places than make you dance
sing
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

more than 2 weeks since I posted here
and no one else has chimed in, all the old timers
are taking naps in their rocking chairs I guess
studio eight could use some new blood, you think
I scared them all away with my last post on May 21st
Wow May 21st....15 days....no activity...is this the end ?
I do talk to myself a lot these days, but I'm boring
I need to speak with the outside world, perhaps
you are all in your gardens...and that's cool
the garden jam is as good as any I know...wake up
jammer poets....steal away to your computer...android
or i may turn into an android myself.....start talking in a mechanical voice
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

cycles
wheels within wheels
so sayeth ezekiel
my passions burn from many ends -
writing
photography
programming
audio
mathematics
my rocking chair gathers dust
as I flit from one workbench
to the next
just happens
I'm in software mode
at the moment
and coding takes time
from the short stories and poetry
lying in pieces
on the bench behind me -
I'll get to them
when I've shipped this package...
unless some other shiny object
catches my eye first

"Falsehood flies, the Truth comes limping after it." - Jonathan Swift, ca. 1710

Wiped clean mind
Mine working in a coal
Going down slow
Nights cool
All that u dream
Part of the scheme
Empty mind mirror
The future is now
And how

haven't had new contributors for a while
I hope us old folks aren't a deterrent to young voices
we all write from our experiences, our jam
is unique to our years on earth, but like to think
there is a little wisdom in the old man jam, 'cuz
despite the aches and pains, your age is the way you feel
overall...the brain jam, the experiences of a life time
wrapped up into pecks on black keys with white letters
black and white keys on the musical board, tunes
from the past woven with hip hop and emo and afropunk
jam on til the new jammers arrive, jam on til the end
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I turned off registration to stop the bots. Nobody new (or young) will come unless you invite them and let me know so I can get them registered.

______

If nobody is invited, we are the last of the Mohicans,
and I hesitate to say, but I'll say it anyway,
a dying breed.

So bleed your heart from your pen.
Then do it again and until you can't.
Paint pictures with your words
like Rembrandt used a brush.
Such is what artists do.

Yeah, we're old.
So? What's new?

:D

thanx doreen
and so we go into the night
the last samurais pens held like swords
we wield are aging words
gatherings from lifetimes
planetary scribbles of wondering fingers
and toes that have marched and sang
the protest songs of truth and glory, sadness
and necessity, we've crossed the bridges
and crawled through the tunnels, we've danced
on matchsticks and twirled like Tasmanian devils
all for the love of the word, the mix of rhyme and reason
the chance to infuriate and compel
the opportunity to bare our guts, serenade
the troops...we voice humanity in all it's shrill notes
and all it's perfect pitch
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

maybe it's time to retire
the blanks are being fired
I have driven away the ink
I am the anti-pied piper
it was a good ride albeit bumpy
at times, the potholes in life grow
into sink holes as the teeth lenghten
and no one is crying, and no one got hurt
and there were plenty of yuks
and hearts were swollen and guts
were bared, and neighborhoods change
buildings fall down, absentee landlords
have their way with the town..so goodbye
to what was, hello what took it's place
one door closes, another one opens
onto the terrace where the cocktails
are being served...peace and love
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Please don't retire from poetry.
Your words are rich and fluid
like intoxicating wine.
