daytime
daydreams
mixt my day to day
my nights losing concrete boundaries

dream is real

will it make me feel better
to embrace amor fati
should I sit cross-legged
on the side of a Nepalese mountain
and stare at the sun, I mean
who knows this shit, what is best..............
we are all seekers of some sort

contentment is slippery
can easily squirt through your fingers
might even land on the sidewalk
and randomness has real staying power
it's better than viagra
it's a crap shoot most days...my dice
ain't loaded, nor am I

no need to fret really
we are all just imperfect humanoids
everyone doing their best to understand...to
live
so we put one foot in front of the other
and open the door
look out world...here I come.....again
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

3 poets convened
to share some laughter
and food
the bond among poets
transcends mere company
sheds light on why we do it
there was a lot of creative energy
that night
we could have lit the street lights

doreen and jana
are real people
in case anyone thought they were bots
and real, is what they are beyond
the connotations of simply being alive
they are genuine
they are creative and loving
they are poets trying to lead
an honest life with dignity and love
for the planet and for the world of art
they are givers
they are fun
the world needs more just like them
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

in 1968
I was glad to leave behind
all those high school slights and hurts
about not listening to the right music
or wearing the right clothes
or about my inability
to dribble a basketball
or connect with a softball...
and for fifty years
I never considered attending a reunion...
until now...
and
I thought...
y'know
might be fun
a bunch of old farts
at a pot-luck BYOB cookout
on a beach somewhere
laughing about what assholes we were...
so I said maybe...
until I saw the schedule:
Golf at the Country Club!
Catered Dining!
Dancing Under the Stars!
and I thought...
fuck that shit
after 50 years
the same old pretensions
of sophistication...
so I said...
thanks for asking
here's my bio
and a recent pic
have a nice time
maybe I'll see you
at the 100th....

voice from the past
the cadence, the baltimorese
familiar like it was a couple days ago
yet so very long ago
we catch up on the last fifty
some things exactly the same
others have twisted and grown
like gnarly vines made into canes
3000 miles is nothing with the cellie
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Concerned.
Messaged him on Messenger a couple months ago.
How are you doing? I asked.
"As well as can be expected," he answered.
Since then sent him an email and haven't heard back.
Also posted on his Facebook asking how he was doing.
No reply. Will try Messenger again.
Concerned.
