I Miss his voice
I try to imagine what he has to say about Trump
Glad I got one of his books to remember him by
and also he is still here on studio eight, words and poems and songs
blessed be his memory

Rest in Peace Lrod

Freezing rain this am.
Cat cries again
Don't miss that trip to DC each day
Like a bad memory
Sometimes I dream of work
But they are less so as time goes by
Winters plugging along
Slowly but surely
Pitter patter outside
As cars roll by with a splash
Pitchers and catchers report in
lees than 2 weeks to spring training😎

loved LRod...still do...he had a light....still does

my sister lives a hundred feet from my father's door
she's now refusing to care for my father to try and spite
my brother and and I....I watched her melt down
like the wicked witch of the west into a puddle
of her former self....my brother-in-law is the instigator
narcissistic personality disorder supreme
they voted for trump and the world is a hideous place
to them, and only their righteousness can save it....
the king and queen of gloom and doom, they try extra
hard to find a shred of something to complain about..
joyless and alone...their son now won't bring the grand-kids around anymore
they'rer toxic miserable creatures that actually believe in their superiority
and even tho I might sound angry, I'm beyond that
I can only see them as pathetic sad people that give humanity a bad name,
as a good friend of mine likes to say at times like this

"Humans !....What a Species !"

snowed in
couple inches, not too bad...
(so far)
watched the falcon heavy's maiden voyage...
holee shit...
science fiction come alive
how about those twin boosters
touching down at the cape
just like the space-opera serials of the 40s
flash gordon or rocky jones...
but this is real, folks -
the cheering crowds
chanting engineers
my people...
no lie, tears were running down my face
i love you guys
you rock
(sorry, what was that about the super bowl?
I couldn't hear you over the roar of those boosters landing)
too bad about losing the core
but that's how engineering R&D goes
you make your mistakes
and you learn from them

all heathens with hats are welcome
last time I was there I asked the caretaker if it was ok to smoke, he said no problem just so long you wear a hat.

From about 38 years ago I remember the gates were open, hard to find I rode around for an hour trying to find, down narrow side streets off Dundalk Ave, for some reason the name German Hill Rd comes to mind. That street is worth a couple of snap shots, it is so east Baltimore,
michael tilles, thank you very much.

we pay for perpetual care, they were supposed to fix that tombstone.
I try to get my head around the concept of perpetual care
I just can't imagine what it means

perpetual jam I can dig.

Sometimes I get such strong sense of Clay's presence when I am in a text box mindlessly typing away, I try to emulate his impeccable style, I look at a badly worded sentence and him telling me how to edit. A badly written sentence like the sentence preceding this one.
I think there must be half dozen words that could be cut out of it. That is when I hear him most, in my edits

I guess that sounds weird but it is true.

still a lot of winter
coming our way
a lot of snow to melt
a lot of ice...
but there are signs...
woodpeckers' display drumming
(a pileated, I think!)
the two-note chickadee spring call
sunrise seen from the kitchen window
and sunset from the fireplace...
quietly
without fanfare
all of spring's actors
are rehearsing their lines
and taking their places
just awaiting
the Director's cue

the snow keeps missing us
on the left and right up and down
raining like hell right now
going to keep on doing that all weekend
we need it they say, and so I adjust to no sun
I live with thirty shades of gray

it is all good the snow the freezing rain the sun so hot I nearly froze to death
kills me when I read about families where there is no love lost between siblings
Crazy mike's daughter lives 75 feet from by back door
so many times I have had a home someplace or another
when she has called me to her
I have to go because I loved her mother
oh my sister myself, my daughter myself

what drew us together
my siblings
I suppose it was the war
"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. America from border to border and coast to coast and all the ships at sea. Let's go to . . .
it was the fear
the news from Europe in the forties
my earliest memories
black out curtains on the windows

a sense of it was us
brothers and sisters\
a set of Siamese quadruplets

it was Mrs and Mr shapiro
and the letters that never came anymore from Poland
it was that we were first generation american on crazy mikes side of the family'
his family had disowned him

what was saying about jam
it is all good even these spasmodic keystrokes
wandering fingers
it was family that created my first friends
later I found out that heathens were family too
that is when I became a institutional Friendâ„¢

it is the perpetual jam
in perpetual friendship
