it's a new year wireman of the stars
probably best you left when you did man'
'cause 2020 was bad news for folks with health problems
though the orange excrement would have given you plenty
to write about, many choice spoken words to lay down
in a little club in Frederick, with a little avantgarde music
in the background , like the beatniks of old reborn and angrier
'cause mark, gotta tell ya brother, that humanoid in the white house
has stained all the carpets, like an old dog that can no longer hold his bowels
and jeez he is so vile, even the satirists won't give him any air play
yeah man, 2020 was a piece of work, and missing it was a kind of blessing
and don't get me started on the virus and the economic meltdown
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

2020 vision
this all hind sight and racism
i was really happy in 2012, but i never bought into that end of our racism crowd
the brothers might be laughing at that show of white privilege but it must be bitter >>>

we fortunate ones who stuck around agree
life is beautiful
2020 not over for me yet, not for another 9 days, i feel like the hobo in slaughterhouse five,
His last words were: "You think this is bad? This ain't bad.”

wireman of the stars
shine down with warmth
come a little closer
my fingers are cold
and I have a flat tire on the van
and the donut is flat
and road service says hours
not minutes til they arrive
under amber spinning light
so c'mon wireman
come a little closer
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

wireman of the stars
we will keep the jam alive
what you began we will perpetuate
lay down our words as they come to us
compile a string of humanity
marks in time
Mark in time
Wireman wanders the collective consciousness
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

covid mutates like an alien
laying eggs when we think the movie
is coming to a close. and there is this shot
from deep inside the bowels of the spaceship
a happy ova all snuggled up and warm
awaiting their time to cause trouble
and I wonder if I will ever be able to hug
my kids again

Im am generally hopeful
but I am also old

an old man
gets a shot in the arm
a smile stretches across his face
the nurse says we are all done
wow. that took seconds
I go sit in the cafeteria and wait
fifteen minutes with others
to see if anybody gets an adverse reaction
but no one does, and they call my name
over the loudspeaker
How to you feel ?
like a million bucks all green and wrinkled
no seriously.....that means just fine
I'm speechless really.....never thought
a tiny needle would please me so
I go back on the 27th for shot number two
I'm sure my grin will eclipse this one
I hope everyone gets theirs soon
and we as a country will have a plan
for the next virus coming, you know
a real public health policy
an old man dreams, a silly old man
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

call me short-timer
a pirate looks at 80 8)
old man's silliness
feels good
i love dreaming:
it is the next best thing to dying>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

In the year 2000 i stumbled on to a website that has made all the differance in my life
hanging out with people who were way more enlightened
wireman and others were a lamp shining a light on my path
I was hoping I could live five years more to finish writing my story
as Kerouac said it was to be ..
he was held fast to the book by the strength of his belief that "When this book is finished, which is going to be the sum and substance and crap of everything I've been through throughout this whole gotdam life, I shall be redeemed.")
Kerouac a biography by Ann Charters
twenty years later and I am still greedy for life, just one more year to make my amends on studio eight. write a hitchhiker's guide to the anthropocene for the kiddos
as if they need it

white smoke sky
weathergirl sez icy rain
Saturday in Baltimore...
and other cities as well
we don't get to claim saturday
as our own, but even so
it's true
It's the Year of the Ox
a mighty beast of burden
to carry the covid away
on it's broad shoulders
and while it's at it maybe it could
haul away some racism and homophobia
and maybe it could carry
some xenophobia and white nationalism
'cause those are broad shoulders
and that bull on Wall St. is useless
he just carries away our livelihoods
my devotion is to the ox
the ox is hardworking, reliable and patient
an admirable creature so unlike that guy
that used to tweet. no that guy tweeted so much
they took away his tweeter
give me an ox over an orange tweeter any day
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
