i don't feel sorry for myself
so much could be worse
so i say to myself, " Self....
this is merely an inconvenience !"

be thankful, and try to get the most

we don't know what tomorrow will bring
and so why complain. I'm able to type
this nonsense ,so how bad could it be.....??

the migraine imp
from head to head
around the world

to be or not is a fair struggle
as these things come to us
in the course of a day, whether
to be something or not be something or not,
it is the oldest dilemma going 'round....
a man or a woman wrestling with
which way to go, like a fork in a road
or a jackknife with blade in or out,
or jus' ole Yes or No, but from my take
there are many grayish greens and silver blues
to consider ,and don't forget the pig iron
and the mousy brown.....for what man can claim
a black and white truth without a wink and a grin,
and so onward we trudge into the forest
of possibilities, each step a new adventure perhaps
if our mind can get around the Oreo cookie version
of verisimilitude

the birds know
this man is quiet
he must be on the verge
of transformation

4:30 am
getting to be a habit
eyes pop open, mind
begins to rumble
legs only stumble
down the hall to the bathroom
and I think to myself
thank god I don't have to go
out to the outhouse
where it's cold and there are spiders
that would love to bite my ass,
indoor plumbing is under-rated
I mean how many times this week
have you been thankful for it,
we just take it for granted
and most all of our ancestors
did just that, went outside the house
half asleep to let spiders bite their ass
again and again, though some were probably
pretty good at doing a sweep of the place
a spider-check, and a little combat
some mornings
I admire their courage and fortitude
Me ?.....I'm grateful
especially when you're old and the spiders
are just waiting for a weak moment from you
to gobble up your ass
