One lonely November night
sharing a bottle of rare
Chianti, mellowed souls
abatement.
All along the levy iron
will triumphed as cattle
crossed creeks paved with
remorse.
The Crocodile laid in wait,
his reality being the deep
touch of nevermore.
Jammin' with the Devil one
lonely November night the
Lightning stopped to say,
"You two are blowing my mind!"

Got them wings on my chest
and Grandma's praise.
When I said NO!
the devil's wrath
spewed through her, demonic
catharsis of exorcism,
why my mother never calls, or writes,
just a card on birthdays and Xmas,
why Still Truckin likes to hang with Dubya
south of Dallas, Crawford,
and someday he'll break thru
and Laura will invite all the poets against the war
to Crawford for crumpets and croquet
while the devil, scorned, turns inward
and shuts up.
My grandmother can rest in peace.
My mother is waiting for me, too,
I have to believe.
Shit, man, ya wanna truck wid da devil,
beware.
